This signing came out of NOWHERE, but I liked him every time I seen him for Schalke, very energetic and dynamic defensive midfielder. He is signed for really cheap, big bonus, and should be the ideal type of profile to go for with a new coach, a hungry young player to mould, especially if you want a high pressing energetic football as Pirlo talks about. The more Bundesliga talent we sign, the better IMO (and few Eredivisie ones).

As someone said earlier, Schalke are in deep financial trouble. They don't have a choice. Under normal circumstances, they would have never let him go, not for that amount

Versatile good young player who can play basically everywhere except CF lol Extremely aggressive and high motor midfielder. Its a gamble, but I'm guessing Pirlo/the management is trying to find a bargain version of Vidal with this signing. Similar profile, he is basically a cheaper version of Partey, similar qualities and style, Partey is better passer, this kid more offensive runs. But similar all around mids.

As if this team has the resources to build a team that can.

No, this team is in the beginning of a new cycle of building a foundation for the next 4-5 years. Something that has been needed for at least the past 4-5 years.

he’ll definitely be the most athletic player in Juves midfield. will be interesting to see what happens when they have a runner instead of three guys standing around and then exhausted from standing around 60 minutes later
