I wouldn't mind them for back-up either but we already have more than enough back-up. Heck, I don't think there's a squad in Europe who is more stacked than ours.
I dont think our squad are that stack, while some teams have almost 30 players in their club
According to transfermarkt our current season players only 24 and that including Marco Pjaca and Pjanic (so it is 22 players)

But we have Romero and Pellegirini out on loan, Kulu and Arthur as new player make it 26 players
Ideally we will have 25 players for a full season and we are on the way to offload some players
If we success to offload 6 players then we need at least 5 new players to keep the squad depth to make 25 players list
I think that is the maximum Tici will try to pull, and we must not forget about UCL list (HG, etc)

MDS, Rugani, Khedira, Berna, Costa and Higuain are the names that probably will go out
with Matuidi and Ramsey probably on their way out too if there are offers worth to take

David Silva freebie. Anyone?

Cavani also.

Why aren't we interested, are we retarded?

Cavani will fill the gap until Halaand, and Silva instead of Khedira (terminate contract) would be very nice.
Some $ will be saved and could be invested in some serious WC player.
Both of them are old as f*ck
Move on

Because our squad is already old as fuck and we got enough oldies on big contracts, thankfully Paratici is bringing in young blood and not going with the marotta route of buying oldies on big contracts

Cavani yes, exactly for what you said. The goal is to eventually move for Haaland in the near future, so any CF will be a stop gap. Cavani still is and will be at a high level for a couple of years and is a freebie. We have enough work already to fix the midfield and fullbacks so using big money on a CF like Milik (who's also inferior to Cavani) would be pointless. So a big yes for Cavani.

Silva I have no idea, haven't seen a EPL game in a while. But he's a AM and I'm not sure we need one

De Paul, Reguillon, Locatelli and Milik are currently the players with the most intense links in the media and I don't think any of them are what's fundamentally needed to challenge the likes of BM, RM and Barcelona for the CL in the upcoming campaign.

I don't know 'Tici's strategy but I may hope it's improving our midfield with a new starter and a new winger
Certainly wouldn't be the worst mercato. We'd be addressing all of our problem areas but I'd still personally like a more higher profile signing for the midfield.

Also quite a few players would need to be sold still.

almost same philosophy with Pep actually

In Sarriball video above , they even play possession football to irritate the opponent (02:18)
Some not even run with the ball only small jogging with ball
After the opponent move and there are open space they hit that space
And there are so much space

While us in other way, it is like playing in high tempo all the time running here and there
And the shape is so compact and feel like no space, is it probably team playing more park the bus against us ?

You know what's really needed, to be fair, to challenge them for players?
About 400 mil. to 500 million in revenue.
The amount that they surpass us every year.
