Yes he comes up with plays that resemble those guys doesn't mean he's as good as them. You cut loses when there's injury problems, inconsistency can be worked on.

Bottom line this is not a trade up and I personally don't think is an even swap.
bernadeschi is not even a starter in this team, jorginho would walk into the first 11. If it means not having to sacrifice Pjanic for this deal and use him for potentially a bigger and better deal too this is a win win for us

I did say it sounds reasonable and why it might look like a decent trade exactly because of the mess midfield is in, but you also overrate jorginho as if we talking prime Pirlo (you see how that works) Overall if this is what's on the table I'd gamble another year on Berna. Skinny holding mids that over compensate for their lack of physicality with stupid tackles are easy to come by.

I never said Jorginho was prime pirlo, but I did say Jorginho may not be a world class player by any stretch but he way more beneficial to this team than bernadeschi is.

Jorginho's vision as well as his passing speed is amongst his best attributes, not even Pjanic can offload the ball quickly enough and gets caught out in possession which is why he's useless in this role and still despite all this I'd take him over signing someone like paredes because lets face it who else is can play in this position? Van de beek? not coming, verratti? not coming, de Jong? definitely not coming.

Unlike bernadeschi Jorginho is a specialist player

Specialist in what? He's as generic a midfielder as could be. Let me put it this way if both players were to be transfer listed, Chelsea would be more willing to let go of jorginho than we would for Berna if the same sum (what would be the realistic market value for these guys atm? Low 20's?) was offered to both clubs. I honestly don't think we're fixing the mid with Jorginho and are rushing a 40MIL investment.

and what would bernadeschi fix if he were to stay?

Is Jorginho better suited to the DLP than any of our existing players? I'd argue yes, certainly more than Pjanic but who does bernadeschi replace? where does he fit? whats another season to the three he has already been afforded under 2 managers?

Berna gives us options and the chance he may reach his potential. I just don't see this impact Jorginho could have. best case scenario will turn out another pjanic and that's me being optimistic. Unless we signing callejon and bunch of runners to play next to him.

What part of my post gave you the impression I was talking about some del piero baggio hybrid? That cross to Ronaldo against atleti at the stage was at those moments can never be coached you gotta have a certain level of footy brain and balls to pull it off. We invested 40mil on the dude. Suck it up and give him another season to sort his head out.
Absolute last thing we should do is give Bernardeschi another season. Are you insane?

No really, after 3 seasons, give me one good reason why someone this inept should be kept around?
Osman I realize most don't mind in slightest to get rid of Berna and I'm done with this discussion but since you're one of the oldies I give you the courtesy of a response. Italians getting late to their primes is not unheard of and for turds like jorginho who's already tanked and is such a non factor I'd keep Berna another season. No need to be over dramatic.

Jorginho - bernadeschi swap is intensifying as chelsea are insistent on the idea apparently

:tuttosport:
Hardly exciting news. Sure, we get rid of a guy we don't need and bring in a decent footballer who fits the coach's needs (a coach we shouldn't have even hired and who won't be around for much longer hopefully), but it's not fapworthy ffs!

Don't like that swap. Berna needs more time.
How much time do you want to give him? He hasn't earned the right to stay here. Burntudeski is a fragile mental midget.

This mercato is make or break for me. Either I maintain a vested interest in JJ, OR I become a casual observer.

Bernardeschi would not get too many chances and while he has glimpses of brilliance he is still far away from being what we need.
Jorginho - Good player but I always thought he was also a bit overrated... That being said the system is an important factor so if it makes our team tick and add some depth to our midfield - Im ok with it BUT we would still need a star midfielder who can link our game with our attack.

I rather get 40M for Bernardeschi than swap him but since we all know its not going to happen - The swap is actually a reasonable and fair trade for everyone involved.

As for other news - Pjanic - He has to go.. No passion and seems like he is just doing it in order to come home and count his paycheck..

Like all of you I would like a mouth watering mid of Pogba Verratti Kante or something like that but reality wise - Pogba Jorginho Bentancur - I`d be ok with it and then we can reinforce our mid further a year later.
Tonali? Sure but not at all cost - There is present and future and while a future is important - the present is currently the base that will define our future.

Wingers/Forwards - There is still time and I dont think we will get Chiesa with Fiorentina`s valuation of him.
Werner?! I`d like him to arrive but I see an EPL stamp on his forehead..
