...Biggiest waste of 145m ever. When he is healthy he is a top player, but that matters little when since his debute in Rennes, Dortmund to now Barca, ill disciplined trouble has followed him.
145m was coutinho's price and he had a weak year so far even when he was available, but agreed on most points. look at this mercato:

spend almost 400m on 8 players, and 2 years later, you only have two of those in the squad: one mostly on the treatment table, and the other only playing because the coach has to use sergi roberto as a cm.

World class talent, and world class idiot:

Deschamps: "Ousmane has been with us for a while. That's his usual trick to be late, although in his defence I'm sure he'll say: 'I'm not the only one.' Whether he's at a big club like Barcelona, with the French national team or somewhere else, he has to pay attention to that. It's part of the life and requirements of a professional footballer.

"He must improve to prevent it from becoming negative. These are situations that [have been] repeated. The sooner he understands that, the better for everyone."

Other comments:

"His poor lifestyle which includes an excessive amount of hours gaming, parties, nightclubs, and missing training frequently has been the major reason behind his constant soft tissue injuries since it is quite rare for 22-year-old to get injured so often."

You cant believe everything you hear, for example who cares if someone games on their own time. But there is enough warning signs in his young top level career, biggiest being the amount of times he been late to training/doesnt come back from vacation in time. But most of all, how often he is injured is huge warning sign. Biggiest waste of 145m ever. When he is healthy he is a top player, but that matters little when since his debute in Rennes, Dortmund to now Barca, ill disciplined trouble has followed him.
I have almost genuine hatred for people like this. They have everything in the world in their hands, all the talent one could dream of, as healthy as one could ever be, and more money than generations could ever need. Then they take it and throw it all away stupidly.

I'm not saying he needs to be Ronaldo, but to waste so many gifts like this is a sin.

.
One of the rare French players, when you see these videos he is endearing and looking naturel far from formatted robots like Mbappe and Griezmann

He's not idiot but immature . A wonderkid who enjoyed success early on: he started in Ligue 1 at the age of 18, at 19 years he succed easily in bundesliga and 20 years made one of the biggest transfers to Barcelona for a huge sum. He is gifted and everything has succeeded him thanks to his talent, not easy at his age with all the money and media to find a balance in his life.
He needs a mentor like Buffon or Ronaldo to inspire him and exploit his enormous talent rather than spoil it. It is not too late.

Always overrated player. Even when he sparkled for a bit at Liverpool. He'd score great goals but then go quiet for games.
I meant Dembele, but imo Coutinho was on face value even more stupid deal. Atleast Dembele looked like a superstar teenage talent in Rennes and Dortmund, so get the desperation to go all out despite the stupid fee. But Coutinho is the quissential highlight player, very skilled but pretty much zones out for months and scores a cracker and gets headlines, then goes back to hiding in the periphery.

I'd just focus on the midfield and doing trades/swaps.

Pogba is very difficult but not impossible, especially if we sacrifice a couple of players.

The midfield you posted is interesting, but it's still raw. It's not a Juve level midfield yet. I'd also opt for Aouar over Tonali - he's more experiences and potentially a better player.

I would only sacrifice Costa in a trade, or if we're getting a nice cash component for him. Boga is a very interesting player, so I'll give you that. I don't see Kulu starting, but eventually he could be our upgrade on Burnturdeski.

I don't know what our budget is, nor do you. Let's not pretend our net spend is less than 100 million - it could be more and it could be less, depending on sales, trades and swaps.

My starting point would be selling deadwood and undesirables or trying to use them in trades/swaps. The players that must be disposed of are:

Rugani
De Sciglio
Burntudrdeski
Rabiot
Khedira or Matuidi but not both
Pjanic (for plusvalenza or a huge trade - not for Fagjinho)
Pjaca
Perin
Costa (if the conditions are appropriate)

Basically, all the Italian Jabronis and a couple of Stranieri.

I'd postpone acquiring Zaniolo to next season, and I'd keep Higgy.
Ronaldo--Dybala--Costa
Kulu--Higgy--Cuads

Aouar--Bentancur--Pogba
Matuidi--???--Ramsey

AS--Bon--MDL--???
Pellegrini--Chiello--Demiral--Danilo

Is this what you would like to see? :p

We're still short a RB and a CM.

I don't know how much money we have, but I think it's safe to say 100M net (exp. minus sales) is way more than we'll end up spending. So I don't think we can afford Pogba, Aouar (or Tonali), another CM and a new RB. Plus for the inevitable portion of the season where Costa is missing, our only wingers are Cuads and Kulu?

I don't really think we need to play with wingers per se. We can have overlapping FBs in Cuads and Sandro. Anyone can fill in for De Shitlio :p

Kulu can also play in midfield, as can Cuads. I would like us to sell all those players I listed, but it's unlikely. Therefore, I'm quite sure we'll end up stuck with at least one of Fagiot, Blaised and Confused, Kebab Senior and Burturdeski (if not more than one of them) :sigh:
