Any real reason? By that mean, reasons that don’t include Wanda.
He is a pure #9 who doesn't contribute anything in the build up and is irrelevant defensively. Sarri plays a high pressing, high possession game and apparently wants to play Ronaldo as CF. If Icardi is there, he isn't complementary to CR7 at all.
See the reason he left Barcelona:
https://www.marca.com/en/football/barcelona/2018/10/23/5bcf4db6ca4741273c8b4581.html
"Mauro Icardi arrived at Barcelona in 2008, only to leave three years later because of the differences between his style of football and the Blaugrana's mentality."

If they're playing a 4-3-1-2, they probably can play with both Dybala, and CR7 up front, and they should look to buy a Trequartista. I prefer James because of the amount of key passes he delivers, but Isco, Eriksen would all work.

In a 4-3-3 that's even worse because it pushes Ronaldo to the wing and he becomes the primary creator because Icardi doesn't create, he only finishes.

To me it seems completely in compatible with Sarrissimo.

Lol, what? We have the most stacked attack in Europe.
lmao

No, it's not really close.

PSG, City, Barcelona, Liverpool are significantly better. Bayern and Real Madrid depending on who they sign this summer could also be in that tier.

Other than Ronaldo there's not a single name in this team that has shown they can CONSISTENTLY break down defenses on the biggest stage. Yeah, Dybala and Bernardeschi had their one big game but I'm sick of that. Ribery, Robben, Hazard, Mbappe haven't built their names on one game or one season. I'll believe it when I see it.

Name players from those teams who are better than Dybala and Douglas Costa and name bench players who are better than Berna and Kean.

I think our attack is almost complete but we need a creator. Whether it’s a midfielder or forward: we badly need a true #10. Dybala is a great dribbler, deadly from distance, but he’s not comfortable as a CAM. He also can’t play as a wide creator. The ideal player could play one of those two roles and would complement Ronaldo.

Ramsey and Rabiot will amplify the attack. It's easier for attackers to do their job if the CMs can actually advance the ball into dangerous areas. If you watch how many times Dybala and Costa had to come get the ball from the defence... I mean, you are asking them to dribble the whole field.

Dybala and Costa have done NOTHING yet. I understand the excitement and optimism because of their playing style and they're the best we have but one is a Bayern reject and just spent a season doing everything but being professional and playing top level football. He has one great half season with Bayern and one with us. The other is a 26 year old 'potential' who's not fast, strong or brave enough.

Neymar, Mbappe, Cavani - Di Maria, Draxler off the bench
Messi, Suarez, Griezmann - Coutinho, Dembele off the bench
Aguero, Sterling, Silva - Sane, Jesus off the bench
Salah, Firmino, Mane - Origi off the bench

Not every single one of these is better than them, but as a collective it's not really close. Those guys have like 200+ CL goals among themselves EXCLUDING Messi. Do we need both hands to count Dybala, Costa and Bernardeschi's goals? And they're not teenagers to have age as an excuse.

I completely disagree with your assessment , but let’s say it’s true. Who would you sign?

Liverpools attack "significantly better" than ours? Good joke. Not to mention our depth is way better than theirs.
You can laugh but it's the truth. They're definitely not better on paper or talent-wise, but those guys have been to two straight CL finals, won one. They compliment each other perfectly and have knocked off some big teams and scored big goals on their way there.

Salah has 15 goals in those two years. Dybala has 11 in 4 years.
Mane has 14.
Firmino has 14.

Excluding Ronaldo our entire attack from these two years barely sniffs that. Dybala, Costa, Higuain, Bernardeschi, Mario, Cuadrado, Pjaca, the janitor.

So many things wrong about that list. Suarez  I think the guy has scored 2 CL goals in 2 years. Coutinho is a complete flop. Neymar is always injured. Aguero has declined. Jesus is a one season wonder.

Someone younger with potential like Jović, Pepe, Havertz, Piatek. Or experienced guys like Cavani, Griezmann.

And no, you can't tell me they're too expensive. We're way past that now because De Ligt is coming, we're giving huge wages to players compared to just 2 years ago and still chasing Pogba, Ndombele, Chiesa, Icardi and those guys.

I agree re: liverpool. Maybe it’s a product of the system or chemistry but they have arguably the best attack in Europe. Our attack has players who are individually better better as a unit Liverpool’s attack is lethal. And the numbers support it
