Pay more is relative.. They can pay him more in terms of before tax but if you take tax into your considerations - When we pay 10M before tax the player will get more net than in England due to tax regulations in Italy which encourages foreign to come to Italy!
This why if we offer lets say 10M and Man Utd offer 12M - We actually offer more in terms of net despite offering less in gross wages

I guess you are right.New tax regulation in italy is great for us but utd is desperate and raiola has a great relationship $$$ with them.
