Well he might be bad but he's an experienced guy, probably wouldn't fuck up all three goals like De Ligt did last night. Seriously, having 5 centre-backs is some kind of tradition at Juventus and Boateng ain't that bad for a backup.
Chiellini's injury is exhibit A as to why we carry 5 CB'S. especially now since the back line will be a high pressing one. These guys will literally get run into the ground if we dont get someone else.

boateng and bonucci sounds like a comedy act waiting to happen. MDL didn't fuck up on all 3 goals. Bonucci was the cause of one with his inability to leap off the air and Can being a brain fart that he is the other.

on the best of days MDL would have prevented his error, it's 1 game, new team, new league and he can't even communicate with the backline. Boateng would be no different to this and wouldn't have done any better

@Jethro dont you guys have like only 2 CBs if you sell him? Not sure what you are doing. I guess Pavard can fill as 3rd CB too, but are you gonna sign someone last day?

Anyways, I would welcome Boateng over Rugani for sure, can be a bit of a bonehead, but physically imposing, quick and good aggressive type of CB, and skilled with the ball too. But not sure why he would come here to be backup? Tho its not like he has much options, this is the end of the line for him.

Juve talks for Boateng?
By Football Italia staff

Juventus are reportedly in talks with Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng after Giorgio Chiellini’s serious knee injury.
There are even reports in Bild that Boateng skipped training and a photoshoot today, so could fly out to Turin within hours.
Chiellini tore his anterior cruciate ligament in training and is expected to be out for around six months.
Matthijs de Ligt made his debut in last night’s 4-3 win over Napoli, but Juve want someone more experienced to lead the line after Andrea Barzagli’s retirement.
According to Tuttosport, Calciomercato24.com and Das Bild, the first target is Boateng, who had already been linked with the Bianconeri before they pounced for De Ligt over the summer.
The veteran would welcome a move to Italy, especially after his brother Kevin-Prince Boateng joined Fiorentina.
Boateng turns 31 next week and has been at Bayern Munich since 2011, previously at Manchester City and Hamburger SV.

He has been in regular in top footie since his teens, so its not suprising you thought he was older. Plus he is the type of CB who is more athletic, so his decline will be more pronounced in his 30-ish age due to that compared to his stellar level at younger age.

Would you take him?

Guy seems like a giant lol.

Bonucci, Demiral, Rugani, De Ligt and Boatang isn't bad.

Last CB we got from Germany was Barzagli and that ended up very well for us :D

Yeah I would take him, the reservation would be if you buying him (for nothing btw) as your main starting CB. But as rotational CB, he is overqualified really, would add alot to our depth. Despite his boneheaded error prone habits, he is a very well rounded defender who has tons of experience.

He used to be quick. But nowadays he's just lazy and more concerned about designing glasses and selling his hipster magazine than about playing football. If you are a player who heavily relies on athleticism to make up for bad marking, and then you lose said athleticism, there isn't much left.

If you watched him over the last 1 1/2 years or so, you wouldn't ask why he would come here to be backup.
