It’s laughable to say SMS is better than Pjanic ,he might become better i dont know about it , but current Pjanic is without a doubt better than SMS .

As for Pogba,he is getting way overrated cause he won the w.c , last 2 years he was above average nothing special, Pjanic performances were better , but i guess you are good only as last your 3 games , but anyway saying Pogba is better than Pjanic i can understand even though I disagree, but comparing SMS to Pjanic

Except they're not. Kovacic is more of a B2B than a regista. He is good at transitioning from defense to attack and carry the ball forward. He's also better defensively and more agile.

Pjanic has different qualities that makes him better.

of my gosh I meant to say they are not the same type and you cant really tell who is better I have auto correct on my phone so that goes funky sometimes

You are comparing two different players but overalll Pjanic is definitely better
Kovacic is a great talent and you could see it right away when he played for Inter
Real bought him and I thought it was a great piece of business but I was also surprised as Real didnt buy too many Serie A youngsters back then..
Real turned him into a very good player - NOT WC YET...
He is agile he defends way better than Pjanic (who his defensive aspect really lacks IMO)
Pjanic is an organizer Kovacic is a B2B so its not easy to compare them (and not right to do it anyway)
To say Kovacic would take a team and give them a real boost in quality - Nope (He will improve them but he wont be a real difference maker)
As I see it Kovacic is a great player who can become WC but has yet to get there
Pjanic is definitely WC as what he does not many can do
Pjanic`s role is also more unique - There arent many great players in his role - The only ones I can think of are Verratti who rotates the field and the treatment table, Modric who is the goat of the organizers and please forgive me if I forget a player or two but the thing is there arent many
Its way easier to find a good B2B..

So what is this unique and very important role that we have assigned Pjanic, which makes our midfield so much better?

Cant defend cant dribble cant run?! Defense - Yeah he isnt the best defender - especially when you compare him to Kovacic or SMS
Cant dribble and cant run?! I never said he sucks at either of them - Kovacic is faster no doubt about it but Pjanic isnt as slow as Riquelme for example (who was a great player)

Pjanic is our organizer - he spreads the play, he provides great passes and assists, his shots arent bad as well.
The role of players like Pjanic Pirlo Verratti Modric requires different skills than the role of players like Pogba and SMS

Pjanic should not be compared to those 3 you mentioned but if you take everything and want to compare them anyway I`d say Pjanic is better than Kovacic but isnt better than Pogba or SMS

OK so now we are in defensive mode. We are not buying anymore. We need to keep Pjanic and Sandro.

If we let either of these players go then the mercato has gone from fantastic (pre signing Bonnuci and letting Caladra go) to good (post signing Bonnuci) to disappointing (selling Pjanic or Sandro).

Losing Pjanic, not signing a world class midfielder, losing Caladra to bring back Bonnuci on higher wages. That will be hard to take even with Ronaldo's signing.

Man Utd are interested in him but he will probably continue his adventure with Atletico..

The only transfers you could still see are
1. Sales
2. Small purchases like youngsters
3. Big purchases like SMS (only in case Pjanic leaves) or Marcelo (only in case A.Sandro leaves) both unlikely
