Our midfield is still a question mark; there are too many inconsistent players, not enough physical presence or technical ability for that matter. I hope those Nedved quotes were real, and that a new midfield player is coming in (as long as we aren't sacrificing Pjanic; players like Khedira, Marchisio, and that filthy abomination parading as a footballer deserve to be disposed of before we even consider selling Pjanic).
Why not? If he trains hard and impresses Allegri, I don't see why not. It's not like we have a plethora of WC mids to choose from. Khedira isn't getting any younger and is above average at best; Marchisio is a shadow of his former self. Can is on a big contract but that doesn't mean he's a guaranteed starter or a great player as he still has a lot to prove, and let's not even mention that thing we consider a footballer that's still lurking there, like a flea on a rabid dog's coat.
Matuidi, based on his world cup performances, and Pjanic should be the guaranteed starters in midfield. Everyone else has an equal opportunity to claim that 3rd spot.

Also there is no such thing as in form Sandro, you should accept it by now, in fact his first season looks more and more like a fluke.
Not that I kind keeping him, I wish he gets back some of that motivation that made him perform like he did two seasons ago but if we get Marcelo sell Sandro without blinking asap.

But then what? We win CL in those two years and then we replace him with someone better/younger. You want us to persist with Sandro for three more crap years in hopes of him hitting form in year five? There is no guarantee, Marcelo is the GOAT in that position and I'd gladly take two more years of him.

I was hoping we could land a CM with sacrificing another CM, but if this is true then Pogba is an upgrade over pjanic and I'd take the swap deal.

If we really want to make a GREAT improvement in our CM, we can't let Pjanic go.
Yes SMS/Pogba are better than him,but why lose your best CM for that...propose some expensive loan + obligation deal,and hope the revenues (with regards to FFP) will be fine.
