He is a good attacking LB but so is A.Sandro + A.Sandro is quite good at defending while I didnt see enough of Telles to say if he is also good at defending... (Whoscored says he is not the best tackler but sometimes Whoscored is stating false facts like in the past with Mbappe not knowing to hold the ball or something like that..

Selling Pjanic would continue the tradition of ruining our midfield and avoiding at all costs to become a team that's a top-favourite for the CL.

A player like Pjanic you don't even sell for 100m this far into the market. This midget mentality of "omg someone offered more money than a WC player is possibly worth, let's immediately sell!" combined with Football Manager fantasy's of what to do with the money is not going to get us to the next level.

We are not going to sign Pogba, with or without a Pjanic sale. It's clear that he is not on the market, PL season starts in two and a half weeks. The thing is - If we replace Pjanic with SMS we lose our organizer but get a strong player which means we will not have an organizer..
An organizer is not a must if you have particular players but SMS Can Khedira/Matuidi is not that..
Pogba instead of Pjanic is the same but with more creativity than with SMS - Still might prove a problem if we dont get at least another mid
