Upgrading Benatia to Godin for a similar fee is an obvious no-brainer. It's losing Rugani to do it, that would be silly.
its not losing Rugani to get Godin (which i would still do, next 3-4 years Godin will be the better player easily, after that i trust Paratici to find the "next Rugani"). this transfer was supposed to finance Ronaldo together with Higuain from the beginning. Godin is simply a cheap replacement, that also happens to be the best CB in the world

:agree: When Messi arrives next summer, our transformation will be complete.

Would you sell Rugani if we get De Ligt?
Honestly, there stats are near identical, except De Ligt plays in an easier league, and he is a bit more of a playmaker. Both are elegant defenders, and I don't see the reason to swap. Caldara is a bit more physical so Caldara & Rugani make a good pair. Rugani & Romagnoli for example lack grinta playing together.

Seems like an unneassary hassle.

The difference he will make would be marginal at best. We are already solid at the back with known quantity at juventus.
No, it would be huge. I can't remember last time he made a mistake and cost his team. If we had him instead of Benatia at Bernabeu that penalty never happens.

Higuain and the plethora 10-20mil youngster sales should finance Ronaldo. The only way selling Rugani makes sense is if we do it to help finance a top CM, like SMS or Pogba ( :inter: )

I'd rather sell Benatia still, tbh, if we are going for Godin. Dude and his agent have even talked about leaving.

I dunno how but somehow Atletico manage to keep their good players.
And those who leave usually return shortly for a much lower fee XD
cuz they flop in their new clubs :p

they mostly keep their youngsters, like Saul, Koke, Gabi. guys like Falcao, Costa, Luis usually leave. Griezmann the exception so far.

btw, read that Godin has a 20M release clause, and his contract expires next summer. we better agree terms with him soon

Obviously. Caldara has played well in a system known for making young players flourish, but also shown that those young players have a far harder tiem when they take the step up.
Yeah people underestimate what a exceptional coach Gasperini is getting in so much from mediocre talent in fairly dynamic system that limits most of those talents flaw. It's rarely about the individual in how they play. Next to find that out it might be Roma with Cristante.

Higuain 60M, Rugani 40-50M adds about up. some of the youngsters are loans (or most are, cant remember anymore), so payment will come due next financial year. lets not forget we added Cancelo whos quite expensive, and Costa is being paid this summer as well (well, the 1st installment is, how much ever it is). financial sacrifices were due to happen, and if its just Rugani along with the obvious one (Higuain), i can live with that

Chelsea's Granovskaia spoke with Paratici regarding Rugani who Juventus will only sell for €50m. Talks expected to continue tomorrow along with a formal offer from the Blue's. [Pedulla]

You did make stuff up. Barza beat him in minutes because he played as RB with some degree of frequency. As a CB, it wasn't particularly close. Rugani played substantially more minutes than both Benatia and Barza in Serie A. He played the full 90 minutes in 11 of our last 14 serie A matches, locked in a scudetto fight with Napoli. 7 of our last 8 matches, full 90, even after we were knocked out of CL. Still starting almost every Serie A match. Coincidentally, the only loss we took in those last 8 was the match he didn't start against Napoli.

And you remember one shaky game? Wow.

And again. We lost 1 match of 25 with Rugani starting. Against Roma, Inter, Milan, Lazio, Torino away from home, we went 4 wins - 1 draw with 2 goals conceded, and 4 clean sheets. With Rugani playing the full 90.

Super shaky, bro. He must be terrible. He didn't deliver at all. That's why we lost the scudetto in the end. :baus:
Benatia was great this year, but it's a no-brainer for me to upgrade Benatia to Godin. Especially at a similar fee.

Selling 23 year old Rugani, who could form a decade long partnership with Caldara, post-Chellini would be foolish.

Can't believe this many Juventini want Rugani sold.
