Keita and Fabinho is pretty good though. Better than Can for sure.

So again here's hope he won't be our "big" CM transfer.
We need another midfielder. Preferably of CL-starter level, but the unnuanced views and hate that is being projected towards Can is rather obnoxious, soem even find themselves calling him not good, mediocre, preferring Max Meyer (lel) etc.; he is better than both Khedira and Matuidi, he comes on a free, he has leadership qualities we lack, Liverpool wanted to extend with him, he's extremely versatile and fundamentally a good player. He is a part of the solution not the problem.

The arrow points towards Allegri and Marotta not Can.

Pool: ok so that error machine Karius will never start a single game for us now, let's buy Donnarumma.

    What a great GM.

It's a bigger number so therefore better - football fan logic.
Now come on. Don't throw me in there.

Pirlo, Tevez, Khedira, Vidal - great business back in the day. But those were/are proven worldclass players arriving on a free/for peanuts. Doesn't quite compare to signing Can (a good mid, but nothing special) when we've been searching for a quality mid for years now.

As for bigger numbers = better footballer, in Naby Keitas case it is just that. He is a complete allround beast and can become an absolute machine of a CM.

Oh hindsight...pirlo, tevez and khedira were supposed washed up players when we signed them...and vidal was not WC yet

emre can is actually a decent safe bet in comparison

No hindsight at all. Your opinion if you thought they were washed up, even though i give you Pirlo.

And Vidal when we signed him was coming of a monster season, arguably the best bundesliga mid the season we signed him. so there's that.

tevez had gone missing after his fight with mancini and khedira had been shut out of the RM team...vidal had a good season playing for some german team (was it bayer?) wich hardly qualifies as playing at the top level...pirlo you've acknowledged

emre can has been a regular starter (when fit) for a decently big club playing at a decent level

for me, can is almost unknown, as i don't watch pl matches or the german nt. i don't even know if he's a regular for germany. i simply hope he'll deliver. that was a similar case with vidal, too: i've known very little of him before his arrival.

btw both naby keita and fabinho are simply dope. i'd be happy with either of them. i have no idea how can compares to them, but if he's remotely close in defending, physical presence, passing abilities and concentration, then i won't ever mention fabinho again.
