Torreira: 'Italy best for me…’
By Football Italia staff

Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira “can’t say” whether he’ll leave in the summer but the Roma target notes “Italy is one of the best places”.

The Uruguayan has been heavily linked with both the Giallorossi and Napoli, and it’s widely expected this will be his final season at Marassi.

“After the season I’ll go home,” Torreira told reporters after the Torneo Ravano.

“The national team is waiting for me and I want to prepare well to go to the World Cup and crown a dream.

“I can’t say now where I’ll go in the next months or the next year, I just want to finish the season here as well as possible.

“I know that the fans love me, these have been two beautiful years in which I gave my best for this shirt.

“Italy is one of the best places, in my opinion. You live well, you eat well but as I said before I can’t say anything because I don’t know anything yet.

“I still haven’t even talked to me agent.”
should we give it a try?

As much as I like him, it would force us to move Pjanic further up. Torreira is a clear #6 and we're not looking for that.
is he? i know he plays there most of the time but to me he has the skillset and physique that is more of a btb mid than a DM/regista. runs a lot, great tackler, very good technique. i dont think Allegri would play him at DM, if he was a Juve player

He defnitely is to me. His best asset is his agressiveness and pressure but I'd say his style is not quite what you'd want of a more attacking minded midfielder. He always looks so hasty to me. He reminds me of that Casemiro fuck in a certain way.

Licht, Asa, Mario*, Khedira*, Buffon, Howedes*, Sandro*

* = likely to leave I'm assuming?

7 players possibly. Yikes. This is gearing up to be a busy market.
