So what exactly is your definition of 'better players' ?

Actually I fail to see the logic infact that losing the league would push us to target better players. I have atleast a realistic claim because monetarily it affects us. We are still a team that largely depends on sporting results for financial success.

While your claim is based entirely on what you're wishing for.
Its a plausible scenario though. A lot of times, you need a burning platform, before there is any real desire to change. As long ad we keep reaching our primary objective, we are going to keep having the same approach. If we start falling short, we are most likely going to try something else.

I think it's a total joke that because we're in an injury crisis and drew Tottenham on a couple of crap goals, we're 1 point back of 1st after winning 6 consecutive scudetti, and we're also in the semi-finals of the Coppa after winning 3 straight, that people somehow actually think there's a considerable issue in management at the club.

The mercato wasn't perfect, particularly in midfield, and losing Bonucci's ball playing ability which kind of shot the 4-2-3-1 all to shit. But we did still bring in pretty darn good players in Costa, Matuidi, Szczesny, and Bernadeschi. De Sciglio is a decent backup RB for 12M (for the future). Too bad about Howedes, that's life. Also secured Caldara last season. Part of the financial restraints on last years mercato dates back to Higuain's 2nd payment, so at least we can move on from that -- guy is bought and paid for.

We need more midfield quality (a couple new faces and Bentancur developing further should do it) and a starting RB. Nobody knows who will leave, who exactly our mercato targets are, or what our budget will be, so stop being defeatist and crying yourselves to sleep. Mercato rumours up to this point are basically horseshit -- as they are every year.

The idea that it would be good to lose a Scudetto or CL so that we spend bigger when we're one point back and tied in our draw with Tottenham is absolutely retarded, and not at all in the Juventus DNA. We lose revenue that way, and management is not shortsighted enough to think along those lines. Beppe and Co. will be looking for good deals that fit within our financial parameters, as is nearly always the case.

Shake your heads, people, and go the fuck outside. Clearly some fresh air is needed.

To be honest I think the chop and change police is going to catch up with us sooner or later. Especially considering how much other teams are prepared to invest.

If we are just going to keep on doing what we have been doing for the last three years I doubt we are going to be competitive in Europe in two or three years. I dont really see what you are getting so worked up about?

I feel like our best signings and our price paid have an inverse relationship. Whether or not we choose to spend a ton of money is largely inconsequential to the quality we bring in, I feel. That's just going by recent history.

The last three years we've had domestic doubles, and made the CL final twice, Dolph!

The lineup needs some tweaking. There will be a few bumps in the road, as our legendary defence/keeper are phased out (as there were earlier this season in particular). Not all quality acquisitions are big money acquisitions. We've had quality scouting, and other than a couple of bad deals, management has been pretty savvy. Obviously the financial situation across Europe is a little crazy, but we're not in some dire-straights situation. Good base and mix of defenders (need a RB), and some quality forwards.

I'm not that worked up, but I find reading the same people spouting the same nonsense to be annoying. I just think we've got some exceptionally spoiled fans at this point. Tired of logging on to read all the bullshit about Allegri, and people perpetually whining because the team isn't going to walk into another title and CL final. It's not supposed to be easy to win with the historic consistency that this side has demonstrated the past 6 seasons, and people are really overdoing it around here.

Amen! There is not some straight line equation that spending a lot automatically means the player will fit in well and produce.

    :agree:

Our most expensive signing has been the most underwhelming one
