The last three years we've had domestic doubles, and made the CL final twice, Dolph!

The lineup needs some tweaking. There will be a few bumps in the road, as our legendary defence/keeper are phased out (as there were earlier this season in particular). Not all quality acquisitions are big money acquisitions. We've had quality scouting, and other than a couple of bad deals, management has been pretty savvy. Obviously the financial situation across Europe is a little crazy, but we're not in some dire-straights situation. Good base and mix of defenders (need a RB), and some quality forwards.

I'm not that worked up, but I find reading the same people spouting the same nonsense to be annoying. I just think we've got some exceptionally spoiled fans at this point. Tired of logging on to read all the bullshit about Allegri, and people perpetually whining because the team isn't going to walk into another title and CL final. It's not supposed to be easy to win with the historic consistency that this side has demonstrated the past 6 seasons, and people are really overdoing it around here.

Amen! There is not some straight line equation that spending a lot automatically means the player will fit in well and produce.
We are standing still we are not progressing

Everyone talks about CL finals here like we won the fucking thing

Finishing second is not a trophy and not something to brag about as a success

a CL final defeat should be something to build on not to rest on our laurels and accept second place

Winning Scudetti doesn't equate to success in Europe

Completely different competitions with much different demands and just because we are winning league's does not mean we are on the right track for Europe

Being happy with league titles is good for you and the other's but I will never be happy until I see us actually competing in Europe and actually trying to win a final not just to participate and be happy to finish second and say it is an achievement

I can live with not winning a CL but when the team is bending over for the first good team that we come up against and hanging on for dear life like we are some Benevento and look lost on the pitch that is when i'm going to complain and vent my anger

As I said in the Allegri thread I don't really have a problem with playing defensive but when we don't have a basic counter attack what the fuck are we doing playing so deep and not having a real plan to actually beating these teams other than hoping we don't concede and they have an off day

I feel like our best signings and our price paid have an inverse relationship. Whether or not we choose to spend a ton of money is largely inconsequential to the quality we bring in, I feel. That's just going by recent history.
Yeah although it seems like we don't find new talents as easily as before. I think I recall reading at some point before that United had poached our head scout

Making the CL final is a massive achievement and recognizing it help building on it. You're being unfair and it means a lot although it's not an endpoint.

Loser mentality is not recognizing your successes, titles or not. Football fandom will make you think making a final means fuck all, but it's pretty fucking hard.

The Champions League, or any knockout tournament football, is a crapshoot. So much of it is about getting in a run of form, and luck. Don't act like we didn't come up against what was the best attacking trio in modern football history in 2015, or a very good Madrid (where injuries and deflected goals played a big role), either.

You clearly do not understand tournament football if you think it's some linear progression. Also, very, very often the best overall team does not win.

Nobody is resting on their laurels, some of us just aren't sitting around bitching and moaning constantly, always playing the 'grass is greener' game.

Winning an historic 6 Scudetti in a row (and 3 Coppa Italias in a row), coming off of what were arguably the two worst seasons in Juventus' history is an absolutely MASSIVE ACCOMPLISHMENT. I don't give a flying fuck if that's not enough for you or other spoiled fans, it is objectively EXCELLENT. It is HISTORIC.

The team has obviously been trying to win the Champions League the past couple of years, if you think otherwise than you're not paying attention. Right now, we have a shit ton of injuries if you haven't noticed, and are slightly imbalanced relative to the formations Max would like to play, so we need to focus on defensive solidity. They will make some adjustments to create more balance in the summer. Also, we're second in the league in goals scored with a game in hand, and tied for first for goals conceded. It's not like all Juve does is play defense, but it's hard to go full out attack when half your team is injured.

If you honestly think selling our best players every season means we are trying to win the CL then you are living in a fantasy land

I'm not asking for free flowing attacking football, want to play defensive football fine at least have a counter attack and make other teams think twice before they want to move their whole team into our half

That is basic schoolboy level football to have a counter attack and make a quick transition to get up the pitch and relieve pressure

We play this passive game where the opposition are not pressured when in possession in our half and do nothing to win the ball back

Tottenham made us look like Benevento in our own ground our own fans rightfully booed the team so it's not only some of us on this forum who are clearly not happy with the team

If the signs were there that we were doing the right things and were at least trying to improve I would be much happier

The first change comes with Allegri

We are going no where in Europe with him, might be able to beat one good team but when he comes up against 2 or 3 in the same competition we will not be in a final again

I would have thought 94M on Higuain would stop these arguments that we care mostly about plusvalenza and that we don't want to win CL.

94M.

Btw, plusvalenza is how you stay on top.

So reaching two finals in three years doesnt equate to competing. There is a middle ground between resting on your laurels and thinking youve won it and not acknowledging any degree of success. Id consider switching teams if I were you. Fact is you are following an italian team which is competing on the financial terms of an italian team. Reaching a chl final is a testament to overperforming when considering our possibilities, its grounds for praising the management and coach rather than complaining about anything.

That's like when an airline says we added to our fleet

No you didn't because you got rid of a plane to bring the new one in

We didn't add to the team

We sold Pogba and added Higuain

Our net spend is 30 million in the last 2 seasons

Carlitos wanted to go back to Argentina, Marota was owned by Madrid, Pirlo was ready to move on, Pogba went for a record fee (and probably had a gentlemans agreement with Beppe from the beginning -- free, remember), Vidal drunkenly crashed his ferrari and was coming off a knee injury, and Bonucci forced his way out (and has been dogshit for Milan). These situations are not exactly all the same, but if you want to ignore specifics and lump them all together as some sort of "Juve needs to sell their best players to buy", just so it fits the narrative you've chosen, then go right ahead. Management has done a fantastic job keeping us competitive.

You ignore the injuries, Tottenham's attacking quality, the fact that I stated we did not re-enforce in midfield -- which means we can't just counter attack the way you'd like, without leaving huge spaces at the back. That is schoolboy logic, basic comprehension shit. We don't have the pieces at the moment to play the type of football you'd like to see at the moment. You're a broken record, Vialli. It's brutal.

If you think Max needs to be the first one out after what he's accomplished, than you're very spoiled, and extremely short-sighted. He has kept us in the running despite the injuries, and the imbalanced team. Anyway, I'm pretty done with this argument, think it's ridiculous.

Obviously we need to make some changes, and that will happen in the summer.

We would never spend 94M on a 29 year old if we were in the business of just balancing the books. We would pocket at least half that and spend the other on some youngster.

Juventus and it's fans are cursed, I predict another 5 lost finals. Consecutive ones this time.
