Its very possible we missed our opportunity, but for now its paramount that we STOP our foolish policy of selling key players and hope for the best with mini-reboots for the team. Add to the strength of the team, not reshuffle, clearly its not enough to compete with in CL so far.

In before we sell Pjanic to Psg or Dybala to Spain.

So lets get fabinho, on a serious note though, how many midfielders do you know are a constant threat from distance? I know hardly any, I can't imagine Kroos would be able to replicate of better that shot if he tried another 10 times

The old guard needs to go. Thank you for everything, but they're part of the problem in Europe. They're great in Serie A, but that mentality doesn't translate into dominance in Europe, where they're meek, docile, and fearful of the opponents. It's a mental block, a psychological issue, an inferiority complex that can only be resolved once we move on from the old guard.

The old guard needs to go. Thank you for everything, but they're part of the problem in Europe. I agree in sentiment but some of the "old guard" still have a role to play. Lets not get too radical. We need modification, not revolution.

This very upcoming summer we were supposed to slowly replace the old guard while sitting on a bunch of WC players preserved and added during our years of deep CL runs 2015-2018. Those players were supposed to be a cushion when we replace the aging backbone

Now we have failed to provde those players and the time has come to replace our old guard. As consequence when the support wheels come off there is no driver and we topple

Psychologically, we have embarrassed ourselves once again on big stage and sent the according signal to potential signings.

We NEEDED to go big after CL finals, starting XI material, not depth. We showed we did not care and here's the consequence

And we need a dominant force in the middle. I rate Emre Can but he isn't the finished product. Matuidi doesnt suit our tactics. I'd stop f'ing around and go for N'zonzi

The attack is good as it is imo.

People keep mentioned we embarrassed ourselves again...I agree, and personally, I think that affects the old guard MORE than it does the younger players. I feel like younger players shake things off better. I don't know, maybe getting the old guard officially out of the lineup and adding youth will help us in Europe.

Serie A does not translate to Europe the same way

In Europe teams are that little bit faster to the ball, little bit more organised, little bit more ruthless and much better players

That makes a big difference in results and performances

They are all old and slow, Son the Tottenham guy caused havoc against the defence and we were lucky they didn't create as much as they should have

Only so many times we can have these narrow escapes like against Tottenham, Milan and Lazio before our luck runs out

Those teams were not able to punish us but Real Madrid did not make that same mistake
