realistic :shifty:

that's simply impossible. our squad is full at the moment, and you can't buy two non-italian and a homegrown player when you only sell one single player.

Not only is Keita a Spanish and EU player, hence non Italian doesn't matter only non EU, but he has been in Italy since he was 16 so now he counts as a domestic Italian player.

Andre Gomes would be a hell of a player with Sturaro's mentality, I know that much.
But that can't happen and Gomes won't surely change his brain.

He is twice the player Sturaro is and it will be defenite upgrade for the squad. And if it's only a loan it's fine.

I'm twice the player Sturaro is.

Frankly, I wouldn't mind if it's a loan and OPTION to buy. So we can ditch him if needed. Then again, I wouldn't mind him if he's here to take Sturaro's place -- which can hardly happen IMO.

But, on the other hand, if we're getting him in order to play 3 man midfield and actually play him quite a lot next to Pjanic and Matuidi, then no, we'd be a weaker team if that happens. If we want 3 man midfield I'd actually prefer a quality player over an overrated Gomes who did shit at Barca and who's shit for Portugal. I'm really curious if we're considering Iniesta, but I do think that our primary target is Strootman. Strootman would be wonderful to have if I knew he would stay fit like in the previous season.

Higuain won't fade out. He would thrive with 2 other quality players playing next to him in the box. That's what he is lacking now, Dybala is too far away from him.

I REALLY think Dybala could play on the right side for the front 3 with DC/Bern on the other side. Yes, bench Mario he can deputize for Higuain. We need Higuain firing on all cylinders again, Dybala too. The formation that brings the best out of the team and not one or two players is more important.

here is what I have been thinking:

Buffon
Spinazzola - Rugani - Chiellini - Sandro
Marchisio - Pjanic - Matuidi
Dybala - Higuain - Costa

Tell me that isn't a highly functioning/technical midfield. Matuidi to do the dirty work so Pjanic can dictate play and Marchisio to make those sexy runs forward.

Tell me that front 3 isn't tricky as fuck. Plenty for an opposition defense to think about. Not only those 3 they still need to worry about Sandro & Costa link up play. Sandro surging forward and Spinazzola too. We have always played the best with a 3 man midfield IMO.

I wish I could be a mod so I could change their title status under their name to "Lurker".
I think Allegri absolutely wants to shift the entire time between two completely different formations.

We are stacked beyond belief for 4231

And if we get Gomes, we are also stacked beyond belief vor a 4-3-3

We can bench dybala, and play wingers+gonzalo
We can bench gonzalo, and play 4-3-3 false 9

In fact, we pretty much can rotate whatever we want and still pick 2 formations

40mln is a heavy price for somebody with crippled knees. What's more, he's always been a prick towards Juve. I think Allegri wants to be able to switch smoothly to 3 man midfield if needed hence those rumors about another midfielder. If Gomes is available on a loan deal I'd go for him. Matuidi, Marchisio, Khedira and Pjanic is enough quality to field three man midfield. Plus Bentancur and Gomes as bench options.

Think about it.

Fresh top team, tends to have some tactical options and bench. And italian teams just love tactical options.
Now we kinda create a situation in which we got depth for options. playing the formation we want, while rotating

our summer plan comes along nicely. Seems we really really wanted depth for 4231 and 433. We got the wingers for both, and the cm for both aswel now.

Pjanic, Marchisio, Khedira, Matuidi, Gomes/strootman. Several combo's for 2man mid are possible. Any combination goes for a 3man mid

CF : higuain ? Manbro. Dybala as 9
W ? Manbro, costa, Berna, untill sold : cuads baby, maybe keita
AMF : dybala, also berna tbh

Good luck prepating for juve not knowing wether its a 3man mid,of 2man+TQ. Wide wingers or incutting. False9 or actual CF. CF with close TQ, or CF with wingers

We can buy 15 African players if they're playing in Serie A.
yeah, i was sloppy. point is that the squad is full, so for every incoming association grown/"free" player you have to sell an other one.

that's the current situation:

as osman said, keita is association grown. we currently have 8 italy-grown players, so keita could arrive instead of basically anybody, bar marchisio, pinsoglio and rugani. the same goes for strootman: if we want him, we should sell asa or sturaro. if we want both keita and strootman (or any pair of non-homegrown players), we should sell 2 players.

spinazzola is basically the only non-u21 player currently linked with us we could get without selling someone, as he qualifies as a homegrown player for serie a. as for the cl-list, even rugani won't qualify as a homegrown player, so with our current squad, we'll be forced to exclude a couple of players from the cl list.
