Our transfer ambition this season is quite disappointing. Unless we intend to stay in the athletics Madrid zone, we should be making big Name international signings.

We have reached and lost two ecl finals in the last three years. It is an achievement and also a bit of a shame. The world thinks of us as athletico Madrid now. If we wanna enter the realms of Madrid and Barca, we need to start making bold statements and intention.

Our management should learn trash talking skills and ridicule how other teams are crap. This will garner us more fans.

When you say big name I'm thinking expensive and I don't think we can compete on a level playing field. Well Juve can buy but then those above clubs can spend even more. Never realized how "the financial resources" played such a big part of what soccer can and can not do until coming to this forum.

It's total Free Agency out there. Club (big $$$) talks player into coming over with greater wages and old club (less $) almost always has to take the money and let go of the player.

So the teams with the most $$$ will always get the best (present time highest value per say) players. It's funny to me that Roma only 4 points last year from title but if Juve puts enough cash on the table in most cases they lose that guy. If Hiagain was on Juve and Napoli wanted him I doubt they could have afforded him.

So Juve is the big fish swallowing the smaller fish like the Roma and Napoli but unfortunately Real and Barca are like the whales ready to pounce on the big fish Juve. Allegri has IMO done an excellent job it what has been handed to him over the years. If the mercato ended today I feel more (+) has been brought in than lost (-).

If Juventus can't be a whale - there are no whales. I do understand that if we splash the cash like Real we would make this league a joke (if we haven't already), so its even worse for us.

Don't think for a second the Agnelli's can't buy bigger than almost anyone. Look at their holdings - not the 'evaluation' by an idiot with a self-important title, but what is IT they really own. People that have more cash than them are either state representatives/patsies(PSG/Qatar - very short term, may end along with their lives in a few years) or they'd have to be bigger than that - Therefore they buy whole sports and countries, rather than teams and players.

The problem is competition and feasibility. Both are essentially zero for them in Italy and a bit absurd with FFP's killers in Europe.

I was just looking at the current free agent list on TM, wondering how many of these we have been linked to over the years: https://www.transfermarkt.it/statistik/vertragslosespieler

Ibrahimovic, Caceres, Ziegler, Aquilani, Benjamin Onwuachi :touched:, Bouy (lol) - played here

Jesus Navas, Ghezzal, Sneijder, Rossi, Sagna, Bassong, Flamini, Chamakh, Tremoulinas, Tabanou, Aissati, Djourou, Kolo Touré, Aogo, Berbatov, Dejagah, Leto, Kozak, Taiwo - all linked at some point

Beppe sleeping.
Should have sign Kolo to make @Fr3sh a believer again.
No one make me excited though.

With Nzonzi and Matuidi sagas we are at the same level of the mercato like 2016 about getting a mid. player. And the outcome bout that two would be the same.

I figured this but my point was with Juve's yearly revenue being less than a few of Euro's elite. Most wealthy people don't want to be less wealthy at year's end. These people (US from my knowledge) have competition egos greater for $$$ than how many titles their pro sport team wins.

The problem is competition and feasibility. Both are essentially zero for them in Italy and a bit absurd with FFP's killers in Europe.
Unfortunately that appears the case. I was totally surprised to see some some squads in Serie A had stadium capacities below 20K. So that's why even though it's not my money, team looks set up well to win 7th straight but don't spend desperate splashes of money on big name players who don't really improve that much Juve's chances of a CL title.

I am almost sure that Marotta is going to fail about signing a CM during this summer and we need to pray that Pjanic, Khedira, Marchisio, Bentancur stay healthy and we can sell Lemina somehow.
