Wasn’t he signed on loan with the option or obligation set for next year? (when we would have to buy a keeper regardless because tek’s contract is up)
If we manage to offload Tek this year then his annual salary saving practically covers around half of the transfer fee.
Ultimately, we’ll have to wait until the end of the market to judge. I don’t begrudge a manager prioritising an overhaul of the spine of the team, especially one as spineless as ours over the past few years.

but tek's contract is expiring, and di gregorio, probably the best italian goalie besides donnarumma was on the market. it's a long term solution and you know it. keep milking the 4th goalie mantra though, it's a good giggle

The new management is ambitious and bold with their decisions. I like it. Now let's see if they have the ability to back this up.
Keeping players not needed out of the squad can be both negative and positive. The positive side is that you create a team focus on committing to work early, without distraction or awkward moments. That is very important when you have a new coach, new ideas. Another is that you send a clear message to some that they are not needed and would go to the stand if they refused to leave. Until now players like Chiesa may think he is too important, at least on the financial side, that the club must renew on his term, or play him even without renewing. Well after this, he may rethink his position.
The negative for sure is devalue their price. But in the market, you never know. If more than one club has an interest in a player, there will be competition and a fear factor that can make the sale easier. Giuntoli has a very difficult task, but not impossible. He seems confident as well, let's see what he is made of.

Your post would make sense if we spent a significant portion of our budget on the goalkeeper but we haven't.

I don't understand why people are creating this illusion that we prioritized signing a goalkeeper over other areas? This was an easy deal to do, simple as. That doesn't mean the club wasn't focused on reinforcing other key areas which they actively happen to be doing, it's just that the negotiations are a bit complicated atm given that we don't have as big a budget to work with.
What started of as an elaborate troll attempt by Lion is turning into legitimate whining from people over signing a GK on loan. This is starting to sound silly really.

3 years of jihadball, horrible conditioning of players, poor form/mentality, depleting finances and people expect us to go back to winning Serie A titles for fun like as if nothing happened over the past few years.
Agnelli, Allegro and the rest of the incompetent buffoons set this club back by at least 3-4 years.
This is a process and it is going to be a long road ahead to return to the top. The new coach/management deserve more time and patience. We cant act on impulse like we used to. We went from top 5 team in Europe to 4th/5th best team in Serie A so people need to be realistic.
