Rare Lion W
I agree, with a limited budget Di Gregorio wasn't the most necessary signing
It's amazing anyone falls for that shtick. Let alone you Matt.
Di Gregorio is first goalie, chosen as best goalie of Serie A last season, and he is loan with obligation, costing club 4m this summer, and 14m later future. That's not at all expensive, for a long term starting position.
Woj is defenitely gone summer most likely, wether its Saudis or Monza. And contract expires next summer so needed replacing for sure.
Counting Perin, who will play only cup games after January, or Pinsoglio, a locker room cheerleader who only plays last half of the season each time. Either of them is pointless to bring up.
It's between Woj and De Gregorio, and they want a new first team goalie because it's time to move on Woj for sure. And thank him for his service.
How are we gonna pretend 4+14 loan with obligation is some earth shattering expenditure? In a position that is the most long term and most consistent in every team. He is here to stay for quite a well, aslong as he keeps up what he showed from last season.

There's things to question, like how we handling the Chiesa or Mckennie sitautions, or allowed Roma to get all the leverage in the negotiations for Soule, showed we were desperate and eager to take on their terms.
But getting a permanent new 1st goalie for reasonable sum that's basically set up as delayed payment? That's defenitely not an issue but something that was needed to be addressed with Woj expiring contract plus age.
