Yes Milik is the far more proven player, but if Motta doesn't see him functioning in this system it's hard to find a decent back up. This kinda reminds me of when we hired Sarri but he wanted Mandzukic out for the same reasons.
Can we not find some cheap player in Ligue 1 that can do a job without the need to overspend on someone like retegui

Well you kind ansewr youserlf there... we probably want Retegui for the same reason that you say we will sell Milik, and its probably because Motta sees Retegui more funtional for his system and not some cheap player in Ligue 1

I feel like it's been the opposite of a toxic summer. What stupid or panic moves have we made?

if you dont pay attention to every rumor and look at what we've actually done and where we're at, I think we're in a pretty good spot for where we are as a club right now

I also feel like we have done well in this mercato so far but those rumors on chiesa and soule transfer have really been annoying.It seems more like a psychological warfare than a report of football transfers. Of course chiesa and soule have never said anything publicly.

There are still a lot of players to get rid of who don't seem to be linked e.g. Arthur, Kostic, McKennie, Weah. Then there are Barbieri, De Sciglio, Gonzalez, Hans, Milik, Rugani and Tek too. There are a lot of moves to make in the next month.
