Would make sense to pair either Bremer or Gatti with someone more inclined to cover. Bremer is at his best when he gets to be aggressive and mark the 9. Gatti is fairly aggressive too and likes stick close. Scalvani seems to be more prone to sweep although he can be aggressive when required to. Same with Pau Torres. I know people like to pair left-footed CB with a right-footed one but I always figured those that prefer to do different things gel quicker and complements each other more. And yes, I am assuming this hybrid 5-backline is temporary because it's not working out. Allegri went for it to stablize our awful defending and since the only one available to play out wide, who he trusted, was ADM since Kostic is bit inept do dribble his man.

When looking up Pau now... I didn't really get it into my thick head yet but Pepe Reina is still with Villareal. Wow.

We have a bad record of weakening one area to strengthen another area. I know we need cash, and are going to lose one of our better players this summer. But we will sell Bremer and most likely spend overs on scalvini. Clubs wait for us to sell then put a price on their players and throw it to us as bait.

Just once I'd like to see us keep our better players, offload the shit and bring in the handful of players we need to strengthen the starting line up and bench.

Why don't we allow the players we fought to sign last year a couple of years to settle in before considering selling them off?
Why even consider selling Bremer for minimal returns. He showed solid performances and potential last season. We've already experienced this with De Ligt, and now it seems Chiesa and Vlahovic are also considering leaving.
What more must we build and destroy to make the Allegri experiment successful? This should have been a closed chapter by now. It's truly disheartening to witness the state the club has reached.

Berardi is a massive downgrade. if this was 3-4 seasons ago - Yes but now his quality is for Roma/Lazio level max.
Lazio did finish above us...
Yeah its a downgrade but it also cuts our wages and provide funds while Berardi is someone who knows how to get his stats.. Not a terrible deal if we take the money and bring another reinforcement (I mean Berardi and SMS > Chiesa alone)
