No CL means we need to reduce costs. So we'll need to get rid of some of our highest earners. Ramsey, Rabiot, Bonucci should all probably be gone. Ronaldo is obviously questionable. I wish we didn't plusvalenza Romero and Kean, as they'd be really good additions.
ramsey, costa, tek, rabiot, bonucci, sandro, berna (etc) earn way too much compared to what they offer regardless of the cl.

for me, no cl means we're not good enough, so it means investments. smarter investments: better coach, better midfielders, less money spent on luxury players like costa or ramsey. we should invest, and we should invest more wisely. our budget is way, way sufficient for a cl level squad, we just spent the money like there's no tomorrow. one season without cl should be a warning sign to rethink our spending, not necessarily to cut costs. inda have a better squad for less money, and we used to have better squads for less money too before paratici took over.

btw we didn't even plusvalenza romero, we provided atalanta with an option to get him at his future book value. infuriating as fuck, tici should be fired alone for that.

I just wait for us to get a proper coach that will show you doubters that we have a better team.
Our players just dont know what they do on the pitch! Look at their positioning when defending - they dont block a player nor the option for a pass to another player. They just dont know how to defend since no-one really told them how.
Attacking wise its practically the same unless we are on the counter.
Actually yesterday on one counter Ronaldo tried to pass to Kulu who wasnt even going forward - This can happen in training but not in real games.

We do have to sign some quality players instead of some useless ones but our overall isnt that bad..

I understand and he is correct on the way we should go forward but I do not think our players are that bad.
I cannot accept the fact Bentancur transformed from Superben to the bad player he is this year.
I definitely dont accept the fact that Dybala who was last season`s MVP suddenly becomes useless in most games.

Look at Milan for example - our 11>>>their 11 yet we got smashed 3-0. Its definitely the coach`s fault rather than the players.
We can take example of their last season though in which there were clear indication to what we need and we havent dont that due to Covid or whatever reason they want to put it on.
This team should definitely get a CL spot and I would even say it should win the Scudetto - As for CL its definitely not enough.

As we said before, the board should definitely build around our young core aka Chiesa, MdL, Demiral, Fagioli and Kulu. If we can, go after Donnarruma, Kean and Locatelli and then go from there. Everyone else for me is expendable, especially the ones who are easier to sell to EPL/LaLiga like Ramsay, Rabiot, Woj, Sandro and Bentancur.

Anyone here knows if there are any buyback clause for Romero? He'd be great to have at this point...

Before building around Fagioli he should prove his worth. I'm not saying he's not good enough but you can't possibly say we should build around a guy who barely had 100 minutes in our jersey.

That being said, I do think we're going to sell him (use him in some swap deal this summer). No way I see him stay here. Just like Correia.

I don't think what he said contradicts that, missing out on CL will force us to address big contracts, especially those that don't pull their weight. I definitely agree the coach bears the blame. But the fact is the financial hit will have to be addressed. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. Like s4tch said it will mean we will have to be more responsible in our spending, which means no more big contracts which not only affect our strategy over multiple years but also effectively kill the drive of most players.

So missing out on CL actually might turn out to be a blessing in disguise in some ways. Hopefully, all the overpaid jabroni’s will run away without much of a fight.

Schira:

- If Garcia stays at Lyon they’ll probably buy De Sciglio
- He doesn’t see Campos being a DS in Italy, as the interpretation of that role is totally different compared to what he did at his previous clubs
- Ramsey can leave
- Demiral only for a very high offer, but it will also depend on the future of Chiellini
- Pogba/Ronaldo swap is a hypothesis to keep your eye on. No negotiations tho so pure speculation in this one

Pogba is well on his way to establishing himself as an EL legend anyway so why not, I'm sure he'd entertain another year of playing in EL :paul:

i watched some of the manure-pool match's first half. man, pogba is so, so weak. no drive, no intensity, no vision. i bet he lost possession more times than he made a good pass, and he rarely wins a duel despite his good physique. at least i saw him making 2 tackles, otherwise his contribution would be next to zero.

A luxury player. I dont see him being succesfull here with our current squad.

Imo we need hard labourers, effectiveness and ball winnners in our midfield so our transitions and attacking play becomes agreesive and fluid, no room for flashy unreliable passengers

Yeah, he tends turn up for a few games here and there throughout the season but you can clearly see he's not the same anymore. Talent and skills are still there, but the rest is totally meh.

That's why we need to avoid this kind of players - full belly, no drive, no motivation and fuck knows what else is the issue.

Oh, and injuries.

If we keep signing those kind of players, we'll be still dealing with another Costa/Khedira/Ramsey cases, it won't stop. Considering our shit financial situation and EL, I'd much rather have De Paul here, at least he's got some nice numbers and momentum - should be able to hit the ground running. If not him, then spend cash on promising players like Aouar.

I can't stress this enough because I've been a broken record for a few months already but we really need to downsize the wage bill and spend more wisely. CL or EL - it doesn't matter at this point.
