In a world where Atalanta reached Cl later stages and were eliminates by Real and Barca. Leicester I havent watched them this year part for youtubes here and then..
Atalanta are consistent and I expected him to get a bigger move.

I could be wrong as I said I havent watched them this year..
By that logic they are a better destination than man u, or porto over juve.

I've never claimed that you would be remembered as a coaching great while never winning anything. The point was that you don't simply remember coaches because they win a trophy or two. Gasperini will be remembered for what he did at Atalanta overall if he's remembered at all. Winning the Coppa Italia for example doesn't really change that one way or another. I don't know how long these guys I named will be remembered but I'd wager that most of the current footie followers know who they are. Obviously as time goes by everyone will be forgotten by the majority of people.
Everyone but great coaches who won a lot. Again, that’s my exact point. He’ll be a nobody within a few years of retiring if he continues this way. No one is saying he’s a shitty coach. But he’s not a winning coach, and until he is, he won’t be a great. Good but not great. Simple as that.

Fuck. That team was dope - always used to give us problems. Buffon and that back three were probably the best in the league, probably Europe. The front three of Veron, Crespo and Chiesa was indeed something special. Dino Baggio and Fuser weren't too shabby either.

Chiesa played for Parma
It does say Parma 99 :boh:

And yes, Chiesa was a Parma player from 96 to 99.

I'd claim that even most of them will be forgotten by the general footie following public. I'm not championing Gasperini here so no need argue about his ability.

About Gasperini, I understand people saying he can't win trophies with Genoa or Atalanta, but the real question is, why he never coached better than those? He's been a coach for how long now? Decade? Two? Surely a top club would have given him a try by now, with how he rebuilds these teams. Or even a Roma level side. Surely they can pay him more than Atalanta

Don’t remind me. It’s embarrassing that Tootsie and Goldilocks could be so stupid. :(

He got a chance with Inter after his first Genoa tenure but failed there spectacularly, which wasn’t really his fault. To compound matters he went to Palermo after and had a disastrous spell there, and a very brief second losing spell.

His second spell at Genoa was nowhere near as good as his first, so no top club was interested this time, and he eventually went to Atalanta. If he was younger he’d have been hired by a top club at some point in the last 2-3 seasons.

Who Sarri?! I never supported him. I always thought about his style as predictable even at Napoli.
Gasperini’s style is predictable too. Obviously. Most coaches with narrowly defined and rigid tactics are predictable. Pep, Klopp, Sarri, Conte, Gasperini, etc.

One of the things that actually impressed most about Klopp was his CL final win against Spurs. He finally showed adaptability and almost completely abandoned his gegenpress, and mimicked Allegri’s tactics that beat Spurs from the previous year. And just like for us, it worked.

Julian Draxler's future at PSG is still uncertain. He has been offered an extension by PSG,, but is likely to leave the club this summer. Juventus are ready to sign him on a a 5mln€/season contract. [L'Equipe]
