Yeah I don't think we doing it either. It's a rumor based on last season Pjanic-Arthur exchange, so it's easy to assume the same thing for Dybala now. But for Pjanic we got a 24yo on low wages, Griezmann is 2 years older and more expensive than Dybala. If it was for Dembele (for example) it would make more sense Imo
Dybala isn't a good fit at Barca either incase Barca succeed in renewing Messi's contract. We still don't know what will happen with Messi.

Plus I don't think a Dybala coming off a knee injury would interest any top club.

I think United would be interested, but let's see. It's certainly a bad year for a sale, last summer would have been great

----------------------------

MF--Rovella (Genoa: bring back from loan for midfield)
ST--Scamacca (Genoa: backup for Morata if we intend on keeping Morata in the starting 11)
LB--Pellegrini (Genoa: bring back from loan for Left Back)
MF--De Paul (Udinese: midfield re-inforcement)
MF--Locatelli (Sassuolo: First team buy for midfield)
MF--Traore (Sassuolo: backup midfield option?)
AM--Boga (Sassuolo: prospect for midfield/attack?)
MF--SMS (Lazio: expensive midfield option, but immediate improvement)
MF--Luis Alberto: (Lazio: midfield improvement)
ST--Zapata (Atalanta: older option for backup to Morata? maybe too expensive for back up?)
LB--Gosens (Atalanta: LB improvement over Sandro. Should be our starting LB)
CB--Romero (Atalanta: would be nice for Chiellini's replacement. he should be here)

There are plenty of options in Italy. No offense to the Aouar crew, but we probably shouldn't worry about shopping outside of Italy for expensive European prospects. Chiesa was a bargain compared to the numbers he is putting up and we got him for a good fee considering what he would be worth now. We NEED to shop in Italy. We can buy in Italy and immediately improve our squad. The two bolded are ours anyway so we should bring them back.

Again, these are options of players we can consider...

Pls discuss
Don't we get tax benefits from signing players outside of Italy? I had thought that was the justification given for trying to swap Dybala for Lukaku?

Rovella - is on two year loan in Genoa, he's not coming back yet
Scamacca - I recall seeing one great goal he scored? Otherwise who the fuck is he? Why is this guy being actually considered for a spot here?
Pellegrini - No idea but surely can't be worse than Frabotta and Bernardeschi. I say bring him back if only to make up the #s
De Paul - Sure why not. Might not be a glamorous signing but probably best we can afford.
Locatelli - Yes please. should be top target this summer
Traore - idk hopefully better than the last traore to play for Juventus
Boga - meh. Fast and Good dribbler but is he actually that good a player? I haven't seen it
SMS - LOL
Luis Alberto - LOL
Zapata - Love Zapata. Would def take
Gosens - Yes please
Romero - Would take too. Hopefully we can reach deal with Atalanta

The tax benefit kicked in last year not in 2019 when those swap rumors first surfaced.

And besides that rule could end up being eventually scrapped.

The new Italian regime applies to all workers who have been non-resident duing the two previous years and who will be working mainly in Italy, irrespective of their qualifications or role, meaning it applies to fooball players and coaches.
Huge tax reduction for foreign players who move to Italy

Under the new tax law players who move to Italy from abroad will be given a tax exemption covering 50% of their salaries, meaning a player earning €10M euros would only be taxed on €5M. That would give a tax bill of around €2.15M at the top rate of 43%, which is an effective rate of 21.5% (compared to 45% in Spain or the UK). Given that players almost always receive their salaries net of tax, that is the club pays both the salary and the tax, this new regime makes it far cheaper for Italian clubs to bring in foreign players.

The original proposal for the law set out an exemption of 70% of the income, with that being increased to 90% if the incoming individual moved to one of the southern 'deprived' regions of the country, however the final approved law saw these dramatic exemptions reduced to 50%.
Players need to agree to a two year minimum contract

Incoming players and coaches who wish to take advantage of the law will need to agree to stay for a minimum of 24 months. Furthermore they can only take advantage of the new tax regime if they pay a further 0.5% of their taxable income to the state, with this money being used to invest in training.

Apart from SMS, I dont see any of these as an improvement on what we have. Rabiot, Arthur, Ramsey, Bentacur are probably better players than these.

The only way forward is buying real guaranteed quality for top dollar and then try to get lucky with some local undervalued buys.

Are you seriously not rating L.Alberto or you just missed out on his name?

Missed out on his name but even after noticing it I doubt he would take us to the right level. I am not sure even SMS is good enough either.

I prefer going for folks who are really good and really clear at what they bring to a team. I haven't thought about this long but I am thinking folks in the mould of Ngolo Kante' as a ball winner for example. He is someone that you know will be very useful in an aggressively pressing team
