Inter's old squad will be one year older. Conte might leave. One could even question if that old squad will survive one more year of Conte.
Milan got 20 penalties this year. That won't happen next year. They will get more cash now, but need to decide if they want to spend that on all their loanees. Zlatan will be 40. And I am still not convinced by any of their attacking options. Zlatan will be even more injured next season and the rest are inconsistent. Several players are young and might step up a bit but even so, neither of them are players I'd like to see here. Leao, Hauge, Salemakers, and the rest, are what I mean here. Sure, if Calhanoglu comes for free and accepts rotational role, fine. The only midfielder at all I'd take is Kessie. They've built a strong backbone and work as a team but I do not see them as Scudetto contenders.
Napoli will restart again but will less financial muscle.
Lazio will probably do better next year but the squad is also somewhat old.
The way I see it, the threat next year is ourselves and Atalanta. I think Atalanta will be better next year. Gosen may leave a large quality drop but they scout very well. They've managed well despite not having Gomez and Ilicic this year, so I still believe they will be the main scudetto contenders next year.
I hope we sign two CMs that will be starters, add a winger and a CF. I don't think we need to do that much to reach scudetto given our opposition. For CL we'll need to do more (an upgrade on Morata etc) but I doubt we can afford that. Instead I hope we give Fagioli, Dragusin and the other promising players, more chances. Will this happen? No! Why? Because we have the same wishlist year after year.
