But you're using phrases like "perfect" and "like a glove" when really that's not true. There is also a tactical issue here, as he clearly plays in wide positions more often than not. Morata and Dybala also move into a lot of wide areas.

The only two players i'd look at for trequartista are Isco and Oscar. If we can't get either, either switch formations or stick with Pereyra.

i see that as a good thing that he moves into wide areas a lot. i wouldnt like us to go for a typical AM, that stays central most of the time. Arda provides a lot of movement and can create you chances from different areas. also, Pogba covers the entire left side and most of our attacks there go through him. ideally, our other creative mid should mostly play through the right side, which Arda does. it would also allow Marchisio/Vidal to make more runs into the opposition box.

the season he actually played AM he was benched most of the time, now that he plays CM/LM he suddenly gets more playing time. i wonder why

yeah, i was thinking the same. and now that Vadala is apparently staying with the 1st team, Coman is also not being loaned out probably, makes it even less likelier that we will look to add another offensive player.

unless we can get a loan deal for someone, which seems unlikely at the moment
