Juve to sign a star name
Inside sources at Juventus reveal that Agnelli's comment that a Juve number ten "must be a prodigy" was a marketing strategy. The Juventus patron has ordered manager Gaetano Marotta to sign a big name midfielder as a plan to increase the Old Lady's sex appeal on an international scale. The Bianconeri have recently signed a mega shirt deal with Adidas and will hope a star name can send shirt sales skyrocketing. His words were reported to have been a tactic to create hype around the incoming superstar. Some names that can potentially soon appear on the famed #10 shirt of Juventus include the likes of Oscar, Cuadrado and Isco. [The Metro]

I know :( but one can dream. If we're really fortunate Vadala (if that deal is ever completed) will be that player. Maybe Vadala and Dybala can terrorize serie a together. Other than that, it is tough. Attackers are the most expensive players and unfortunately, we've always missed the key opportunities to buy these players.

As far as Cuadrado. Unfortunately he is a great complementary player, but id never build my attack around him. For around 20 mil I think he is good value due to his versatility, however, he cannot be the attempt at getting a #10.

Players I really wish we pounced on:
- James Rodriguez
- Marco Verratti
-Javier Pastore

Unfortunately we decided that Isla and Asamoah were more what the squad needed.
James went for 45 mil to Monaco and 80 mil to madrid. We couldnt match both prices.
Verratti went to PSG who just wanted him. We could have offered 1000 million and PSG would have offered double.
Pastore also went to PSG for a crapton of money, and has never been close to the quality that such a price would demand. Also, PSG wanted him so we would have been outpriced.

Asamoah and Isla, we could afford. Asamoah made team of the season twice, and has been an excellent aquisition for the team, whilst Isla might go for a decent resale value.

Not biting this time. :p

This transfer market is so boring..the market is empty, no class wingers, no class cm's, WTF r the strikers? Fullbacks (right even more rare than left)? Every club sitting on tons of cash, but no players available so the few relatively good ones costing fortunes.

I have no clue what my club is doing on the buying side (Costa took me by surprise and the DiMaria links starting to make me nervous), but of course we wont sell any of our important players..Götze surely not..this year..its THE year, where he has to show more and prove himself. The situation reminds me very much on Scholl. He was also the poster boy of that generation and struggled during his 1st years in Munich. The end was, that Scholl became a Bayern legend loved by everyone and one of my favourite player of all time. If Götze is going to have a bad season and deciding not to extend the contract, then there is a high chance for Bayern to cash in next summer. I m very positive, that the Scholl scenario occurs.

Schweinsteiger ll prob leave, maybe Dante...

Schalke wont sell him for a reasonable price.

Scholl was a cool player, but Götze strikes me as a more talented one, but lets see, maybe he will become bit underwhelming his whole career, as I kinda found Scholl to be even if he grew into a very good player and a leader.

I still think we could have beaten Monaco with an equal bid. RM, of course not. James I'm sure would have preferred Juve over Monaco.

One thing I've learned about following this team, is we have been burned by haggling on price. I would not doubt we had some good buys lined up where we negotiated too long, someone got wind of the deal, and ended up outbidding us.

A similar thing happened to Milan this year. If it had waived the medical, Jackson would have been there's. You sometimes have to be aggressive in the transfer market because the longer you wait, the more likely it is that you'll be outbid.

Like for Gotze, ask Bayern's price. If it is 50 million eur, pay it. For world class talent you can pay up... Trying to pay 30, and waiting for the likes of Arsenal to bid 45 just results in failure.

We've saved so much transfer cash over the last 4 years, surely we could afford 1 big buy that is basically a sure thing...poorer teams do it.

You r not getting a price if u ask them. Bayern dont sell their important players IN GENERAL. The only exception is, when a contract is running out and both parties r not able to find an agreement. You just cannot buy players from Bayern..has always been that way long before they have become that powerhouse they r nowadays and they wont change with their accounts filled to the top and their stadium payed. Its a Bayern principle and Rummenigge & Co. cannot resist to mention it whenever necessary.

So the answer is: 'Not for sale'. Negotiations wont even start and whenever u hear a source reporting Bayern asking sum X for an important player, then u know its BS.

United could offer 100m€ for Müller and Bayern wouldnt even blink and the answer would be the same.

We saved nothing mate, we were in deficit for 4 years, and we had to make loans cause we didnt had the liquidity to buy players. This is the first year thats different.

You really need to be realistic. At no point we could spend 50 mil on gotze, and we still cant.

Poor teams can save up, we cant, we need to remain as competitive as we can. Only way to actually "save up" is what bayern did pre 2013. They had a pretty finished team of the right age, didnt spend much for some years and then just dished out and blew it for key purchases.

i never wanted him here, but still shaqiri is not half as bad as people make him on here.
inter is just a mess with an idiot as coach.
put shaqiri in a working team and he will be pretty decent.
same goes for kovacic.
