Why would you ask a question like that with such an obvious answer if you didn't think that was what I implied?
You implied, essentially, scoring in a small team doesn't translate into a big team when moved. I asked how else are teams supposed to find players to sign otherwise?

You said scouting. I asked whether or not we scouted this player.

I know that's what happened :D

Yes, I would bet we did scout him. And...?

That's all I wanted to hear.

By your post, we are getting a good player because:

1.) We scouted him

and

2.) He has consistent numbers in a small team.

Realistic wishlist:

- Buy Berardi fully
- Rugani (I know we bought him this time already, but he'll be joining the team)
- Zaza (not quite sold on him yet, but it seems like a done deal, and I think he'll be a decent backup, with potentially more in a few years)
- One AM, most likely Mikhtaryan, though I'd really like Fekir.
- Pogba stays (for one more year most probably)
- Llorente goes if he doesn't show signs of improvements. It saddens me that it has come so far, but if he doesn't improve until summer, he's pretty much a lost cause.

I think you're overreacting. It's not like we'd become CL contenders if we bought pair of WC CBs. We have more hurrying needs and just like Lion said it's creativity (CF, AM, wingers). By using your logic the only players good enough for Europe are Pogba, Vidal and Tevez.

I'm not that worried about Coman. He's just 18 and he's getting his chances here and there. Next season with Berardi and Zaza here I think we'll see him more with the other two in 433 most probably.
About Coman, the problem is not only with his development (which clearly could be faster if Allegri used him more, while also benefiting the team). The problem is that right now, the squad options are very limited. With Morata as a starter, who would we have as options in a game where we're stuck behind? Llorente and Matri. That's just awful.

And yes we have bigger needs than improving the CB position. But they just aren't good enough. I'd hope we could improve the position bringing in an established good CB, but that's not happening in the next mercato. So, for European standards, we'll remain weak in that position.

And honestly Pirlo is a big question mark right now. With Marchisio playing as a DM this team is miles better than with Pirlo as a regista. He is playing poorly even against minor sides in the league. His lack of physical condition exposes the defense and the slowness he brings stalls the offense. I love him and he's still amazing in free kicks. But even in corners he's been very bad. If we are keeping him as a starter, it will not only hurt our performance this season but also next season. This is the biggest deal this team is facing right now.

Pirlo and Llorente when subbed for Marchisio as a DM and Morata make this team in a whole other level. We desperately need it.

berardi coman morata tevez zaza as out main attacking force? we just need 1 or 2 proven players or players with massive potential. coman and berardi will be ready within 2 years i think
true
tevez and morata are forward and playing in the forward position .there are some different between forward and Midfield Striker.we need to players that help to our forwards and can attack the other team’s goal like pogba. Can Juve hold the ball well enough to minimize danger by dealing with constant pressing in midfield? we need to a forward too.our attack definitely needs to improve.so we need to a forward like tevez.Sassuolo is willing to bid $20 million for Juve's half of Berardi!! its fair if juve get berardi+zaza for 30 mil.

I'm not sold on Zaza...$15m for him then another $15m for Berardi...that is $30m combined, plus if Marotta is stupid enough to complete Pereyra which i think he will do there is another $17m potentially. That is almost $50 just on those 3 players and all three would most likely be benched. I dont see Romulo being bought out.

For me, i would like to see:

Keeper - Neto, good kepper and is free, gives us cash to spend elsewhere in the future.
RB - back up to Lich, Caceres is good but made of glass and we can't rely on him all season. Sell Caceres and bring in a young RB for the future.
LB - buy a young left back, we have waited long enough.
CB - Rugani must come in. Barzagli needs to retire. Keep Bonucci, Chiellini, Ogbonna( has improved a lot) and Rugani as CB options.
Midfielders- pepe, marrone both out. Sturaro has just come in, utilise Asmoah in midfield. Consider high offers for Vidal to help net out our overall market spending. Keep Pogba if possible. Buy that AM!!
Forwards - Sell llorente. Keep tevez, coman and morata. Add Berardi and one CF. Not Zaza, even look for a freebie who is reliable back up to Morata.

4-3-1-2 = that quality AM is crucial.
4-3-3 = Berardi, Coman and Morata for the future front trio would be interesting.

IF scenarios:
Pogba is sold to PSG - Verratti, Pastore and Cavani...these are the names we should be asking at...
Pogba to Real Madrid - Isco and Coentrao/Marcelo....
All deals to have some cash involved as getting multiple players would be difficult.

You feel confident about Berardi in the current system?

I like Berardi but I think he needs to be used in a 3-man attack to flourish.

Oh and I think we can find better players than your suggested. De Bruyne is a good example of what type of deals we should be looking for.

Why not? Berardi could be Tevez backup (something we we need) in a 4312 and our starting RW in a 433

I think Berardi would do quite well in a sort of LF role in a 4-3-2-1. From what I've seen, he's more of an inside winger anyways, and has also played SS quite a bit last season. In any case, I don't think there's anything to gain from not bringing back, it's a no-brainer really.

I think Fekir would be pretty close to a De Bruyne type of deal, though De Bruyne was probably a little bit more proven (but also a year older). Who do you suggest in particular though? :D I kept it deliberately a bit open with that point, and mentioned Mikh mostly because he seems rather likely an option, especially if BVB continue to fail.
