Easy money

AMC had 52 milloilm stocks and 37 million shorted

That's fucking amazing. I just hope the brokers don't cancel those limit orders. Just bought an AMC lotto call, here's to hoping for 1000.

Just doing quick math, if somehow in the land of crazy fuckery AMC hits 1000, my one call option would probably be worth $900 per share.

If I get 90k out of this I'm treating the forum to drinks after covid.

So let’s say I wanna buy AMC and gamble, what’s my best bet with say $1k?
Well, you could buy in the money calls with a 15 strike for next week expiry, but be prepared to lose. Honestly, shares might be the better play since options can be tricky. But biggest payout would potentially be the latter.

Already up 33% on my AMC call. Looks like more buyers moving in, or short covering.

I don't know much about shorting, why would this be a sure thing? It's not like GameStop for example, where there are more being shorted than actually exist.
Hedgefunds borrowed 37.000.000 shares (78% of Total shares). Their short options Will be closed at the end of the Day. So they have to cover 37.000.000 next mondag. So many shares aren't available so they have to pay the market price at first (22%) and then outbuy the other shares (56%). It meand that they need to buy shares for at least 15 dollars a share and they shorted dit 3/4/8 and 9 dollars. The price Will Go ik heavily. Forbes placed An article at least to be 40 dollars a share at monday.

In a simple market this makes total sense. You have a bunch of people short the stock but they have to buy it back above $9. If the only orders that exist are at 1000, they have to by them back at that price. But this is very simplistic and probably won't be this easy.

I bought 10 shares, we'll see what happens I guess. Thank you for the explanation

This is how it seems as well to me, like everything needs to fall into place perfectly for it to work. Stranger things have happened though, lets hope :xfingers:

EDIT: Also, are we setting that $1000 limit?

Took a gamble on AMC as well. Let's see how this pans out on Monday :xfingers:
