He was one of the best mids in Spain this season. Top 5 for sure and could even argue top 3. I dont care about his age. He's in the prime of his career. I don't care about resale value. I just want to win the CL already.

Agreed. I bet a lot would make judgement based on his past, as he played for Stoke. At first, the fact that he played for the team that I have an irrational hate for did have a effect on my objectivity. But after asking friends who watches La Liga and based on his performances against us (and admittedly some youtube videos), I think he could be a solid signing.

apparently he has been called up by the congo national team, but hasent agreed to play for them, French u-21 though.
