What is so ":sergio:" about that? I don't get it.
What is so ":sergio:" is that people are treating someone who made his name building and selling technology products as if he were Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Pope John Paul II, and Abraham Lincoln all wrapped into one.

Would any of this outpouring of flower arrangements and votive candle vigils make any sense at all if this were Larry Ellison or Larry Page or Louis Gerstner or Andy Grove?

Even if it's not technology or just a known CEO, how about Rupert Murdoch, Warren Buffet, or Ratan Tata?

It makes no bloody sense.

The only thing that determines the quality of a product is the number of items sold around the world on a long period of time. Apple is owning the industry on that department for years. So, just cut the crap.

Probably because Steve quit Apple, just recently. That also means that Android is pretty good and cheap, not that iPhone is shit.

I think I saw mass ditchings of iPhones into the San Francisco Bay now that Jobs is gone... :shifty:

But dude -- you can't have it both ways. You cannot say, "The only thing that determines the quality of a product is the number of items sold around the world on a long period of time" and then follow that up with, "Wait wait. What I really mean is the number of items sold around the world depending on their price." :confused2

Steve Jobs was a dick and seeing all these Facebook statuses about him is a joke. He helped create great products (by definition, considering they sold, period, you fuckin' clowns), sure, but he was a dick.

Everything is wrong with Capitalism, look at the world around you Deneb.
Oh, sure. Oh please dear Allah, take this dirty capitalism away from us, the bane of our existence. Then maybe, just maybe, one day we'll be as advanced as Morocco.

I don't even know how you make it through the night without choking on your own feces.

Would you be prepared to put the issue as bluntly as: capitalism is the problem, what do we do about it?

That's what many voices are saying. I haven't really formed my own opinion yet. But this suggests that the solution has to come from some kind of a global scale leftist movement. Which sounds so utopian it makes me roll my eyes so far back they hurt.
Leftists who shout Capitalism is the problem are more annoying than all the Steve Jobs blow jobs going around. These folks simply don't understand how an economy works and never will. Nothing has ever been accomplished through socialism or communism, and nothing ever will. Sure, some folks will have government-sponsored healthcare, but who gives a fuck if 200 years down the road there's no new technology to save us from the various future challenges we'll face.

A global leftist movement sounds like a utopian idea? Sure it does. The Oligarchs and richest families on the planet certainly agree with you.
