When I see a player who can define the shape and direction of this organization for years to come, I'm willing to overpay a little bit to get a lot more in return. Jovetic isn't a player you lose over 2-3 or even 5 million Euros.

i agree with you there considering his talent i don't think a few million should be a stumbing block. but perhaps to marotta it is considering he has both vucinic and giovinco regardless if we think jovetic is better or not. and perhaps the sale of some of the deadweight might to generate some cash/wage budget be the needed factor to get marotta to give in

Juve shouldn't be overpaying for Jovetic because he is not the player Juve need.

I won't dispute Jovetic is a 30m player, so Fiorentina are right to ask for that, but he's not worth that to Juve just now.
Jovetic would work in this team. Next year I think we can finally splurge on a pure goal scorer.

Ok, he's good, but he's not THAT good... He simply ain't like Zidane, Del Piero, Baggio, etc. Those are once in a decade players.

you are comparing players with finished careers who have had decades to prove their worth to a 22 who is rising very quickly. not a fair comparison

But what if that valuation(or close to that) is out of our reach in regards to our budget for this summer ?
Player sales still.
I'm not a fan of chucking a team together just based on them being good players.

If it is at all possible to sign a proper CF, I would do that, even if he wasn't quite as good a player as Jovetic.
I think, for a future WC player that is only 22 years old, versus someone like RVP that is 29 for the same price really isn't that big of a difference. Both would produce goals, but for what Conte wants I think Jovetic offers more long term.

Over the last season, the major thing this Juventus has struggled with is converting chances. We won the league with our top scorer getting 10 goals, which should say a lot, but even he was being benched by the end of the season. We finished our league campaign with Borriello as our starting centre forward.

To ignore the need for a clinical finisher in a side that is entering the Champions League would be a stupid move, especially considering the amount of money already spent.

If Fiorentina are going around asking for our better talents, such as Marrone, they can forget it. If they are prepared to negotiate with players that Juventus are looking to get rid of, it should be considered.

Meh, we spend about 25 m € for Melo and Diego each. I would probably spend 30 m € on Jojo. He's young, proven in Serie A and CL and last but not least obviously incredibly talented.

I think between Giovinco & Jovetic...they could total bag around 30 goals this season. In all honesty, with the strength this team has now, I don't see scoring goals as a problem.

I agree about last season and not scoring the chances we had...well, we had players like Esti, Giach, Pepe and an hot/cold Mirko in and around the box...plus Matri/Borriello/Quag just couldn't get any consistent rhythm.

I don't think we will have to worry too much about that this year. Especially if we keep Matri.

Everybody wants a heir for Ale, but nobody wants us to overpay. :sergio:

That's how we will end up with players like Borrigol. And why the fuck can't we scout shit?

What player sales ?And what do you know of our budget ?
Well I know we have a budget of at least 25-30m because if we didn't then we wouldn't even be bothering with players like Jovetic or RVP since we already know their transfer values.

As far as players:

Melo: 10m
Krasic: 8m
Quag: 7m

or

Matri: 11m

We could get between 25m-29m in transfers if we played it smart...just from those players.

Look at these:

Padoin: 4m
Pazienza: 5m

That's another 9m

Giaccherini could go for 3-4m...We could put some funds together quite easily, plus who knows what we already have for a transfer kitty.

Hell, we could fund the Jovetic transfer with selling our own players and use whatever we have left to sign a decent ST.

Next year buy Higuain/Benz/Dzkeo

Except Quag those valuations are way off.Realistically speaking.
How?

Players that we could sell:

Matri, Quag, Pazienza, Motta, Iaquinta, Padoin, Krasic, Melo, Giaccherini.

I mean, aside from maybe Matri, do we really need any of them above? No, not at all.

I'm sorry but Padoin and Pazienza simply wont garner that amount(you've posted above)..They're not that worth that much.

Looks like we might not be getting more than 8m for Melo judging by some reports(since he wants to stay in Turkey and Gala wants to redeem him)

We got to be realistic when it comes to player sales.Especially since we're talking about players who we are desperate to offload

Padoin and Pazienza could go for around 5m, because that's what we bought for them not more than a year ago. Right?

There fees were around 5m, correct?

We need to start selling our deadwood, everyday we read about Juve being linked with someone, but you don't see nearly half as many reports about us selling players, except for the odd one about Ziegler or Melo. Time to get rolling Beppe
