Well, let's not go overboard when rating Marchisio now, but I agree he's part of our team's core and I'd hate to see him leave. Also, Bonucci, who was mentioned as a 'last resort' bargaining chip, is becoming just that and shouldn't be sold. We can't afford to add quality players on one side and let go of players who have brought us such success last year on the other.

We have to invest to up the quality of the squad, not replace the good players. We should be looking to get rid of players we no longer need, players like Elia, Krasic, Quag or Matri ( for another, better, striker ), Padoin.

Let's not start shooting ourselves in the foot by selling the wrong players though, we're finally building a good squad.

I wasn't suggesting selling Marchisio; I was merely responding to a question/suggestion, and then I came in for a barrage of unwarranted criticism (mostly in the form or retarded emoticons and meaningless dumb ass gifs)

Hardly anyone in this squad is untouchable as such, but we can't afford weakening the team in midfield or at the back to get an attacker. I see people overrating Marchisio, definitely I agree, but you say we have a lot of talented youngsters as if they're good enough to simply take Marchisio's place. How many of these youth talents actually make it in the end? How many of these super talents have we seen in pre-season or with the primavera to never be heard of again?

If we let go of Marchisio and play Asamoah, who will be the backup?

We need a big squad man, and we finally have the depth we need at the back and in midfield... we should make our changes upfront, sell the surplus wingers/strikers when buying attackers.
