Jovetic hasn't gotten the chance to frequently participate in the CL like Del Piero did with Juventus. When Jojo did get his chance, he played extremely well. 4 goals, 1 assist in 4 matches.

Bit of a difference in era's. Del Piero at that age was playing in the greatest league in the history of the sport, Jovetic currently plays in a 2nd rate league and isn't ripping it to pieces like Cavani or Di Natale does.

23 year old DP's(97/98) scored 32 goals, 22 year old scored 15 and 21 year old scored 13. Jovetic to date hasn't scored more than 14 goals. Del Piero did so much much more in less time and also managed to show a world quality season in 97/98. We've still not seen a monster season by Jovetic. Viola built everything around Jovetic, he played more games even though he took one whole season off at 21.

You claim we're a mediocre league but yet you think signing world class talent is realistic and possible. You're full of contradictions here.

Secondly, I didn't include DP's CL success because Jovetic hasn't had to the chance to show his worth in Europe due to the club he plays for, and when he did get his chance he played well.

Thirdly, I made that comparison because Del Piero and Jovetic play almost exact roles. You're saying Jovetic doesn't show promise, yet he's put out better numbers than Del Piero in similar years.

We signed Llorente within the wage budget we have, which means that every other stay player can expect, in due time, to reach those figures. Hence why it's not disturbing the balance, as the possibility of them reaching 4.5 was always realistic, even prior to Llorente's signing.

If we sign Tevez on 5.5 or 6, then that is suddenly our maximum wage budget, you see how the two examples are anything but parallel. Jesus christ, I thought English was supposed to be your first language.

I highly doubt we'll offer anything more than 4-5mln for any player out there this summer. If Tevez can accept such (and there's no bigger offer), we might sign him. But what are the odds for it? Close to zero. That's why Jovetic is the only realistic choice of those on a higher level.
