Stevan Jovetic is twice the forward than any of our attackers.

This is in inflated market (with PSG, Chelsea and Monaco around) and we have to spend to get quality. He's only 23 with his whole career ahead of him.

If Southhampton offered Roma 20M for Osvaldo, than Jovetic is definitely 20M+ in this market.

If we have the money spend it, invest it - take the risk, we haven't dropped 20M cash on one striker in a while and where has that gotten us every other summer? Absolutely nowhere. People say, save the money and put it somewhere else well we've been doing that and we still have no top striker.

20M+ + Marrone without a doubt.

Jojo + Llorente

Because he never scored more than 15 leagues goals/season in his carrier, so he is not a finisher in my books.
< 15 league goals/season = poor finishing skills or inconistent at finishing.
But does that not just make him a poor striker in your opinion?

Doesn't mean he's not meant to be a finisher.

I wouldn't say he's twice the player Vucinic is, in terms of what they are capable of, at least.

You are welcome to argue that Jovetic will put in twice as many good performances as Vucinic, which would make him twice as useful, though.

And are you counting Llorente in that?

Jovetic played like he was neutered last season. He put in a few completely ball-less shifts especially after the winter break. Llajic a G; the boy scored as much as Jojo, and carried the rats through patches of the season. Beppe should get him for free next year.

Twice the player according to what? How about actually producing before we go off labeling him something he ain't. He has been producing at the same level as guys like Quag, Vucinic, Gio and Matri have. Guys like Higuain, Tevez and Suarez are guys who have produced at another level than our current strikers, Jovetic has not.

You have a point, still there are other things to have in mind. Jovetic is overall a better player then all our attackers. He know how to dribble, find passes, hold the ball, first touch(Matri) and still he is 23 years old. One should always look at potensial to, im sure he can develop even more, I doubt thats the case with Quagliarella and Matri. ATM he is better then all of our attackers, still we need a finisher. IF Jovetic arrives he could make a good partnership with Llorente. Jovetic offers more to our play then Quagliarella,Matri,Giovinco ever will, if he is what we need the most? Maby not, a Higuain would be better.

But if we got Jovetic then IMO we would have solved some of the problem as I am not pleased with any of our attackers( not as starters) Jovetic-Llorente it is, let's give Llorente a chance, Jovetic as a SS could work great 15-20 goals would be okey especially as he would offer more to our play then any of our attackers as mentioned before.

To be added, when Bayern pressed us backed in CL and Vucinic did not play, we diden't have anyone upfront who could hold the ball and to do something creative upfront. Vucinic isen't someone who scores 25 goals in a season, still in matches like these, you need a attacker who can hold the ball and who's first touch is great, Both Matri and Quagliarella coulden't do anything in that match, Matris first touch is just aweful, in Serie A when we are dominating the matches, it's not as important.

Llorente size and his ability to hold the ball will be a great improvement in our play, even Jovetic is good at holding the ball and dribble and find passes. I believe our chance in CL would be alot better with Llorente-Jovetic and Vucinic as a alternative. Then players like Quagliarella,Matri, not because the players mentioned are better goal scorers. But they would improve our play, and by that we would get more chances to score. ( Especially when facing teams like Bayern who press us back)

my English isen't the best but I hope you understand my point :D

natural skill with the ball, something only vucinic we have after del piero gone, unlike vucinic though, jovetic is younger, faster, and has more much work rate.

we paid 15m for vucinic, so jovetic undoubtly worth much more than that.

remember guys we already get a new natural goalscorer that is llorente, so it's better for us to get quality SS than another CF/ST who may not be able to play with llorente.

We can't afford those players. Suarez is completely out of the question, and I don't thing we'll take on Tevez' big wages.

Stevan Jovetic (if we get him for 20M + a player) is someone who is in our paramaters in terms of transfer fee AND wages.

Our team is better off with Jovetic, then without him. Why not just spend the money and risk it? I mean for the last couple of summers everyone thought because we didn't drop 30M on a striker that we'd have enough money for a top striker next summer, but look what's happened...nothing. Higuain, Tevez, etc. are all out of our league. Jojo is someone realistic, wants to play with us, and has great potential. There's nothing not to like about this deal.

No I wasn't including Llorente in that.

I'm mostly comparing with Giovinco and Vucinic. Who I think Jojo is better than both as of now, and could only grow to be better.

Also there's a report that says in TMW(quoting Corriere Fiorentino) which says Viola will do anything to do lure Gomez here. And it seems like they're pretty desperate for him.But they must sell Jovetic first though.Make of it what you will.
