I don't have a SS on my mind, I have Higuain on my mind who is a goal machine.
Yes. With Real Madrid behind him.

Meanwhile Llorente was also. He scored 20 a year, 3 years in a row with Bilbao behind him. So let's at least give him a chance.

Well said Mike

And do any of you ignoramuses think that if we paid top dollar on a striker last season we would be hitting the market so hard this summer?

Llorente for free being wrapped up last year was massive for this summers mercato. It gave us a goal scorer for free and allowed us a stronger budget for now.

It's called thinking ahead.

I would like to see that formation, but it makes no sense to move one of the top 5 CB's in the world to a position he's okay at, but where he doesn't really shine. Honestly, would rather see Asamoah as a LB, the guy is impeccable defensively.
Don't think Asamoah is pure LB.

So now we're going to discredit a highly talented player by going "but he had Real Madrid behind him"? Now he'll have Juventus behind him, the by far most dominant team in Serie A. He has scored 128 goals in all competitions the last 5 seasons. Llorente is coming off a horrible season and he's not in the same vicinity as Higuain.

Do you happen to know why he has had a "horrible season"?

He's been used as a substitute in most games due to his refusal to renew his contract. They've started him lately and he has scored goals in those last few games.

I wasn't the only one. And in the first half of that lone season he was here, he was doing very well. He fell apart once del Neri wanted him to play a deep lying playmaker role, which is not his game.
:agree:
I'm a bit upset we never gave him a shot under Conte. He would have been a good understudy to Pirlo and the right sort of player to allow Pirlo rest and keep him fresh.

I know, it was still a horrible season. No game time, no consistency.

Llorente is not the point though, the opportunity to get Higuain is.

10m + player? Depends on who that player is, if its for example Matri or Isla, then it sounds fair. If its Marrone then no.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure Viola want to cash in. They got Ljajic and Rossi back, they don't need Jovetic like they used to.

We need somebody like Mirko who can connect midfield and attack (no, we've seen that not only Pirlo is needed for that). Neither Llorente nor Higuain are capable of doing so.
Actually that's how Bielsa prefers his strikers to do. Llorente can do it.

Yes. He deserves nothing for wasting a year at Bilbao. If anybody should have advantage for the starting spot next season it is Vucinic because he is a proven commodity. And Vucinic-Jovetic can ofcourse play together as they do very well for Montenegro. It's a real possibiltiy that this will be our starting partnership next season. Conte didn't have any problems playing Vucinic - Giovinco for most of the season so he doesn't have a problem with not playing a striker.
Who is this guy? :lol2:

20m + a player would be a very fair deal for both teams considering we desperately want to sign him plus viola get a substantial portion of cash component in return.win-win situation.
