You know that Llorente is coming?

People act like we didn't sign him yet.

He's here to do THAT job and we're NOT going to bench somebody (Llorente) who gets 4.5mln per season. Our striker and guy who you want to finish will be Llorente next season, deal with it.
I know Llorente is coming, but I also know Llorente is coming off a nightmare season and I also know that Higauin is one of the better finishers out there and a more superior player. Higauin is a 25 year old guy who has spent the last few years as 2nd option behind Benzema and has managed to score 23, 30, 19, 32 and 24 goals his last 5 seasons. Higauin is on a whole other level than Jovetic, the overrating has to stop.

Marotta and Conte obviously want him here even with Llorente here because they are pursuing him.

As a goalscorer, yes.

As an overall player, no.

And we'll stop overrating Jovetic once you stop overrating Giovinco

We'll see who we end up buying. If it's both Higuain and Jovetic then I'm fine with it.

But if we sign only Jovetic we'll see interesting posts here and how Marotta failed. People fail to realize Llorente is planned for a big role next season.

No he wasn't. Stop kidding yourself. Sanchez has never had to have been the go-to guy, to lead his club. He also had a certain Antonio Di Natale playing alongside of him. Sanchez is a fine enough support player, but he is not someone who can take a club on his back and drag the team through. And the signing of Neymar is irrelevant. It's not Sanchez who will be leaving, its Villa. And Lavezzi is almost 5 years older than JoJo. No thank you.

Oh, and one more thing on this. IF the BEST that Sanchez can do is score 12 goals, while being a support player to the likes of Di Natale and Messi, than what makes you think that he would explode into this fantastic goal scorer once the weight of that burden is placed on his shoulders?

Hey wait. I just thought of something else.

How is getting Sanchez, who is a year older, or Lavezzi, who is 5 years older at 20 million straight up cash, a better deal than a 23 year old captain for his club and country for 20 million + a player?
You need to stop kidding yourself. You're justifying signing Jovetic for 30m even though he still hasn't even dominated a weak Serie A ahead of a one of the best finishers out there in Higuain. His creativity is overrated(5 assists this season, how productive could this creativity really be?) and I don't mind seeing Vucinic as a second striker or Llorente as a target man next season next to Higauin.

Where in my posts did I say that Jovetic was worth 30 million, or that is what they should be paying for him?

Where did I say that?

That's right. I didn't. My arguments are NOT about what Juve should pay, but about his qualities as a player

Giovinco will become a monster when he is fueled with confidence. It is yet to be seen in Juventus, but I think he showed it in Parma. I really dont understand how our fans can rate him so bad when its a player of obvious qualities. And rare qualities - at least for the current squad. When reinforcement arrive I believe Giovinco will step up in quality. We need guys like Jovetic to make the most out of Giovinco. Gio will become inspired to try out little tricks and skills that our current team / and tactics doesn't allow. I believe we're way too focused on having the ball in our feet that tricks and skills isn't allowed for the risk of loosing the ball..
What let me down abouut Gio is his decition making... and i dont know what can be done about it. His ability is good (well his firswt touch is crap) but overall he is a very good asset... is just that he always tend to do the bad decition dont know why.

In the scenario that we sign both, Marotta still failed as we didnt get a wc left back.
Nah, I think people would be happy.

But in case we sign Jovetic only, it's gonna be a catastrophe here.

It's gonna be all "Oh we needed a finisher and not a SS!" for months to come. They will, yet again, forget about Llorente.

I kind of agree with this one.
especially I don't see him qualify as a No. 10... It's probably not fair to compare him with DP but, at the age of 24, he really hasn't achieved much

I noticed that as well. What happened to everyone? People were ready to cut off their limbs and donate them to Bilbao when we were negotiating with them. Now that we go him for free, everybody acts like he's some kind of depth player. Some people need to get back on the ground, but that will happen eventually once August comes.
Last time I checked dynamic strikers like Lewandowski, Mandzukic, Falcao, RVP and Aguero are dominating today's football and not the slower physical players like Dzeko, Toni, Gomez.

You know what's funny?

If JoJo hadn't tore his knee up 3 years ago, this thread would have died along with it. He probably would have already been long gone to somewhere else in Europe.

In fact we need both Higuain and Jovetic but getting both was never an option. It seems like we have to choose or rather go for option easier to seal. It will always be easier to get Jovetic who wants to leave rather than Higuain who seems still rated by RM's management.

There it is, the Giovinco line. Giovinco is nothing more than a reserve to us. I'm not overrating him and he has not played as well as I though he would. Also Giovinco is a personal favorite and I'm more a fan because of sentimental values.

I'm sorry Sergio, but if Higauin's monster goal tally isn't enough for you and you still want Jovetic here ahead of Higauin then I don't know if there is anything else to discuss. Higauin's goal record is so fuckin' impressive and he's up there with the best. He's not even just a good goalscorer, the man is a fuckin' monster. Higauin has scored 128 goals in all competitions over the last 5 seasons and you still prefer Jovetic?

Jovetic (SS) and Llorente (CF) - that's just a well planned and logical reinforcement of attack. I would love it
It would potentially be the best attack that Juve would have had since DP and Trez in their prime, yet that still wouldn't be good enough for some.
