Honestly I get that.
I have no idea of the actual numbers, but let's be conservative and say he earned about 1.5 million a season for at least 5 seasons. That would come down to 7.5 million. That is far more than most people will make in a lifetime and could easily see you live to 85 without a care in the world. Invest and you'll never even have to touch the principal.
You have to really love football to endure the endless training camps, the traveling, the criticism from fans and all the bullshit that comes with it. Lord knows you don't need to do it for the money any longer. I'm amazed so many guys play until they're 35. I mean, I love football. I really do. But there is so much more in this world to experience.
