Sturaro joins Genoa on a permanent basis
The obligation to buy has been activated by the Rossoblu

Stefano Sturaro is now a Genoa player outright. The midfielder had signed for the Rossoblu on loan in the January transfer market, and after the contractual conditions included in the agreement were met, the obligation to buy has now been activated.
Here is the official statement:

DEFINITIVE DISPOSAL OF THE PLAYER STEFANO STURARO
Turin, 6 February 2019
- Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that, following the achievement of the conditions provided by the contract, the obligation for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Stefano Sturaro by Genoa Cricket & Football Club S.p.A. became due for a consideration of € 16.5 million to be paid in four financial years.
The economic effect is positive for about € 12.9 million.

Sturaro transfer raises eyebrows | Football Italia
There are numerous questions being asked after Juventus sold Stefano Sturaro for €18m, making him the most expensive Genoa signing ever.
The statement from Juve on January 24 confirmed had loaned the midfielder to Genoa until June 2019 at a cost of €1.5m, with obligation to buy at certain conditions for €8.5m plus another possible €8m in various bonuses.
However, a new version was released today, stating that “following the achievement of the conditions provided by the contract, the obligation for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Stefano Sturaro by Genoa Cricket & Football Club S.p.A. became due for a consideration of € 16.5 million to be paid in four financial years.”
This makes Sturaro the most expensive ever signing by Genoa, who are the oldest professional football club in Italy, as €16.5m plus the €1.5m for the six-month loan takes the total cost to €18m.
It is also a profit of over €12m for Juventus.
It’s not clear what the ‘conditions provided by the contract’ were to suddenly activate the clause, as Sturaro has not played since August due to a torn Achilles tendon.
He was included in the Genoa squad against Empoli and Sassuolo, but remained on the bench.
According to Calciomercato.com, the conditions to turn the move from option to obligation were as simple as Genoa picking up their first point after his transfer.
At the same time, Juventus seem to have a similar deal in place with Genoa for the Turin giants to activate the loan into an obligation to buy for Luca Zanimacchia, who is currently playing for the Juventus Under-23 side in Serie C.
Genoa President Enrico Preziosi’s rather complex web of transfers over the years already raised eyebrows.
Exchanging players between clubs at vastly inflated prices is the reason Chievo started this season with a three-point penalty.
They had swapped several players with Cesena, who went bankrupt last summer.

So it was 18 mill not 16.5??? Turning a option to obligation after achieving one point.... LORD DOES IT AGAIN!!!

50 mill from selling audero, benatia and Sturaro. Yet marotta got 30 from selling Vidal, tevez, llorente, asamoah, lichtsteiner, marchisio.

Imagine what we would have got for pogba if Paratici called the shots on that one...

I think its hard to consider this 18mil for sturaro when we are obviously going to then overpay in the summer for one of their players, romero or that black forward probably.

What is the point of these shday dealings?

To balancd books short term so we can accomodate for the huge expenditure that was ronaldo?

Just dont end up in Serie B again please thank you

He didn't sell the last 5 players you mentioned, they were released or free agents. Vidal was also more than €30m. Not that it really matters anyway, because it's extremely selective. Might as well have thrown Pirlo, Buffon and Dani Alves in there as well.

Isn't that why Chievo was docked 3 points? We're not Chievo. We shouldn't act like that.
3 points is nothing for us. We should start the season at -7; it might make for a competitive Serie A :p

In any case, EPL Fags overpay for shit all the time and no one bats an eyelid.

Is it illegal though?
The papers were signed ,the clauses activated.
I mean psg paid for Neymar some 240 mill. outside their finance books.
FFP is another matter. PSG signed Neymar by activating his clause, and did not sell anybody to Barca in return. Chievo, on the other hand, were doing similar dealings with Cesena to cook their books to be able to register for Serie A.
On top of that, we're a public company, and we would be lying to investors if we do that.

Nobody cares about Chievo, but the entire Italy wants to see us dead. Prosecutors initially asked for a 15 point penalty for Chievo.
