 i do not fall for it. I find it funny, borderline sad. Just wanted to comment to see what u think.
I think that both are garbage and probably should be let go at the end of the season. Sturaro for being useless while Khedira is on quite high wages we could offer someone better, who can play more than 3 games a month.

Well Khedira has been playing a lot this season. Among top 5 i think in minutes played and games played last time I checked (2-3 weeks ago). Not playing is not an argument to use on him anymore, if anything he should play much less to be in better condition for the important games

Either way we're left with a hole in the midfield because of that, not to mention we have a bigger one on the other side, because Pjanic is not Pogba's direct replacement. Neither is Sturaro.

For me the only untouchables in the midfield are Marchisio and Pjanic. Rincon as backup will do, he's very solid indeed (nothing extraordinary but we need those grinta players and he's decent on the ball). Lemina would be in the mix too but there's something we don't know about him. Otherwise he would have benched Sturaro/Khedira by now.

The rest are more or less disposable to me, because we have too many back ups and not enough real starter quality players. If Khedira continues to play like this, you won't be able to justify his place and salary in the team. Hernanes is second one here I guess, pretty big salary for the impact he has.

We found a role for Pjanic where he can work as well as doesent disrupt the rest of our team, in the 4312/4231 behind the striker(s) imo and we shouldnt move him around much. If we can put together a working midfield trio behind we will look scary, and that should be the goal. Marchisio-Khedira, depending on who the backups are, are fine so that starting spot next to them should be the goal obviously. Khedira/Lemina Marchisio/???? ????/Rincon. Sturaro as 7th choice. Good enough with the correct rotation imo

Next season we'll be with Tolisso and N'Zonzi according to reports. Sounds promising to me.
Marchisio backup and starting btb mid over Rico. Midfield solved

We should make a challenge and loan him to Sass/Genoa/Atalanta and see how many starts for the entire season he would get in such team. Then compare it to the playing time he gets here.

He would easily start for all those clubs and be one their most important players. He was a starter at Genoa already before coming here for example.

Why? He get's his fair share of chances here and then some. He's alright as a squad rotation option.
