Silvestere: Beck's departure is not great loss to us.....

Jaap Stam: Once ferguson decides u're not in his plan, there is no turning back....u're like unwanted piece of baggage....

Ancelotti: Beck wouldn't be use to milan.....we have our system to play and don't want to change that...:LOL::LOL:

Moggi: Beck appeals more to the women here than he does to me...... :LOL::LOL:

Beckham: Man u treated me like a piece of meat....:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

More shocking comments about Beckham comes from Joaquin:

"Beckham is more the fruit of an image than a footballing theme. He has a great play with his right foot, but Figo is a thousand times better, and has more class."

Joaquin added that he himself has the potential to go on and be better than Beckham.

Laporta: No promises to buy Becks

Barcleona's newly-elected president Joan Laporta has insisted he 'never promised' to sign David Beckham.

Beckham: Adios, Old Trafford? (ShaunBotterill/GettyImages)

Laporta won 52 percent of the votes to succeed Joan Gaspart as Barca president after running a campaign based on buying Beckham.

But the Barcelona supremo said that, while he had agreed a fee with Manchester United for the England captain, he could not guarantee that Beckham will join the Catalan giants.

He told the BBC: `I did not promise to bring David Beckham to Barcelona.

`I said I had a agreement with Manchester United that contained conditions. One of those conditions was that I became president of the club. I have now done that.'

He added: `To make a strong football team it is very important we have players like David Beckham.

`I know it is a difficult decision for Beckham and his family but I know he would be delighted to be in our city, our team, our country.'

At an earlier press conference Laporta claimed he will talk with Beckham`s representatives as soon as possible.

Laporta swept to a huge victory in the presidential elections on Sunday evening, pushing rival Lluis Bassat into a distant second place.

The 40-year-old Catalan lawyer saw his campaign build unstoppable momentum after reaching the agreement last week with United over the sale of Beckham to the Nou Camp.

But at his post-appointment press conference, Laporta said: `We are waiting to hear from Beckham. We completed the first stage of the transfer by winning this election, now we will speak to Beckham`s representatives.

``I have never promised to sign David Beckham, I said we reached an agreement with Manchester United.'

dont really care.....too bad for manu because they lost their capitan and icon.

what bothers me is that any team Real Madrid faces wouldn't dare concede a Free-kick. They have the best long range FK taker (R.Carlos), and the best short range Freekick taker ( Becks) + Raul who could take short range with his left foot and Zidane who could make crosses or passes from Freekicks :D

a FK to real Madrid would be like taking a penalty.

............

BTW, does this mean Figo's going to Inter?

So true.

Hmmm I hope not. I don't really fear Figo that much, but I'd hate to see him at Inter, because he can pull out a good performance every now and then.

BTW, what do you guys think of the price?

From Soccernet---------------------------------------------------------------

Under the terms of the agreement, 7.5m euros (£5.2m) of the total fee will be paid upon completion of the sale, and 17.5m euros (£12.24m) over the following four years in equal instalments.

The remaining 10m euros (£7m) are conditional upon Real Madrid's performances in the UEFA Champions League.

Under the deal, 1.25m euros (£870,000) are payable in each of the next four seasons conditional on Real Madrid qualifying for the Champions League, and a further 1.25m euros are payable each season conditional on Real Madrid reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League over the same period.

hehehe do u guys remember Zamorano a while back? He couldn't get Ronaldo's #9, so he got 72, and put a '+' in the middle. Maybe Becks should get #16, #25, #34 ?

Beckham is a class above the others in terms of freekicks. Now on to the number question. there is no way Beckham will get number 7, raul is the symbol of the club he will not have his number take by a foreign import.

Most likely Moro will leave, Ronaldo will then move to the number 9 shirt, freeing up the number 11 for Beckham.
