I dont think Mandukic's transfer worked out as well as they would have hoped. Which is strange considering he seems like the perfect Simeone player. Atletico dont mess around in the transfer market, when selling their star striker they immediately invest the money from the transfer into a direct replacement. Though now it seems like they are investing more into the future with players like Vietto, Olivier Torres, Gimenez, and Saul all 22 or younger and all having world class potential. I think Atletico has really established this season (especially if they win the UCL) that there really is a big three in Spain now and unlike Valencia or Villareal they arent going to fall off.
