One of the poorest Classico's in a long time imo. Barca were poor but Real were just poorer, and that was the difference in the end.

Messi played a poor game despite scoring a goal, he missed one clear cut chance that he really should have scored. Pedro also despite his goal was a bit wasteful in possession, Keita too played too many stray passes. Xavi was a mastermind today, what a performance, in these past 2 weeks Xavi has been the form player. Busquets too i thought had a good game. Another Barca player that did well was Pique, he was brilliant especially against C.Ronaldo.

pelligrini is anything but a shitty coach to be honest!!
He had a good career before joining madrid but he has been a total disaster ever since. He is not used to such a high level of expectations on him. He is not good enough for them. Unless they get a world class coach they arent winning anything.
He is as good as Leonardo at best. Average

wow u really are under-rating him, comparing him to leo thats harsh.

i agree he is'nt doing a great job at madrid bec quite simply he did not ask for these players thats why he does'nt seem to have a clear cut idea on how to utilize them. pelligrini is def up there with the good coaches around.

Pellegrini is a good coach, he's done a decent job for his first year at Real, he just needs a little more time to get this team to play better as a unit. IMO Real will be deadly if they keep him for next year.

Laughable statement and laughable post. The exact opposite, has made Real really solid and strong, they averaged 3-4 goals a game in last 10-11 games, and they were going for a record in that score until last weeks 2-0 win. And this is their first home game loss in the league, against Barca, anyone would lose against them. And is only 3 pts behind them and still going for the title. How many coaches would be a disaster with this?

What he has acheived and the huge expectations are entirely two different matters. People who cant seperate them are those who say above nonsense like the above. Its ridicolously unrealistic to expect football to be like FM, buy everything in sight, have 6 new starters, everything to click in no time and win EVERYTHING in first season. This is clear strong base to build on for next season. Unless they can get a real improvement as in Mourinho (or the very unlikely Wenger), its foolish to abandon what has been built this season.

I wanted him in last summer, and I hope we get him in this summer, atleast be one of our top few choices.

Pretty much sums it up.

Were both Diarras unavailable?

I thought Real really missed having a proper ball winner in midfield.

I would also say that Real would have been better off playing another wide player instead of Van der Vaart to try and stretch Barca and really put them under pressure.

Both team's decision making was very poor on the counter attack on several occasions.

Thats true, also watch Villareal play now, its like they're not a team anymore. Pelle is a top coach imo.
:disagree:

Over the past few weeks there my favourite side to watch in La Liga. The way they tore Sevilla apart the other week was testiment to watch the new coach has achieved over the months. Nilmar is a class act. Fred you do know they're sixth in the table?

Some of Pellegrini's choices were rather odd today. He had both Diarra's available. The reason he opted for Gago i imagine is because Gago has been in good form while Lass was injured in the past weeks, but Lass has been available since last weeks game against Racing, he's just fallen out of favor with Pelle. As for M.Diarra, it has been obvious since day 1 that the coach doesn't rate him. Either way, the minute i saw Gago along with Alonso in midfield without either one of the Diarra's i knew there was no way they were going to win.

I agree with you about playing wide players. I personally would have played Ronaldo as a winger on one flank and played either Granero on the other or Marcelo. You should stretch Barcelona and not play too much in the middle where their strengths lie in Keita, Busquets and Xavi.

Also i have to add that this season, Liga's teams have been really poor. It isn't really much of an achievement to be 6th right now in the Liga.
