I think it would be Essien. Mouri used him against Barcelona in the past, and he proved to be very great in this position. He is the only one "in my opinion" that would be able to lock down Messi. Obi Mikel on the h=other hand will strugle trying to hold Xavi or Iniesta.

Having Bosingwa would = disaster on the Left side.
I would leave Essien in midfield and try to stop Barca getting the ball to Messi at all.

Valencia did this well, because they pressed Barca really well in midfield.

The vmoney?
I'd give them to you now if you want them. :D
Ya but wheres the fun then?

You have a deal. Oh, and the winner can also say to the loser: "IN YOUR FACE, SUCKEEEEEER"
That also :p

Hey, since your team is still in it, who do you want to win? Even though i see Chelsea as the team that can stop Barcelona like no other team can, i still see Barcelona as the more dangerous team for Arsenal, so if i was an Arsenal fan i'd want Chelsea to go through to the final.
But i'm not an Arsenal fan and i can't feel the rivalry between the English teams. You can.
So, who do you want to make the final?
I'd definitely rather Chelsea, if Chelsea didnt have Drogba i think we would be very capable of beating them. Drogba is our bogeyman, he always does well against us, plus we dont defend well against the big, strong and good in the air strikers.

Barca on the other hand will rip our pathetic defense apart. I would have been confident playing them with last year's squad, but not with this one.

While there is a possibility to that, still the option is valid that Messi would get the ball, then cut through. Bosi won't be the right man to handle him still. You need a solid 1-1 stopper against Messi and Bosingwa isn't the man for it. Remains a theory though. I think it might be down to Ballack and Obi in the midfield to stop them.

I'd just tell the defenders to butcher his legs. I start Ivanovic there, he hurts Messi, gets a yellow. I switch them and put Bosingwa there. He hurts Messi, gets a yellow. If Messi can still walk i put Carvalho there to finish him. If Carvalho won't do it i tell Terry "Hey, John, get a red card if you want but cripple him".

It's very easy to stop Messi. You just need to be sadistic enough to think of a way to do it.

:D

That would be fine if Messi was the only player you had to stop.

You need to save a few yellows for Alves, Xavi, Iniesta, Henry and Eto'o.

Indeed. You need one a certain shot. Anyone remember Del Horno kick to Messi? It was in a semifinal, but I'm not sure. Del Horno became famous after that :D

What they're doing in La Liga is just incredible. With 75 points out of 32 matches, they could have easily topped any of big leagues in Europe. They've been keeping the pressure on the Mighty Barca and now with El Classico in Bernabeu on its way and Barca playing in two massive competitions, I think Real have a good chance of winning the title and if they do this, it'd be one of the greatest comebacks of all time.

They have Sevilla(A), Barcelona(H), Valencia(A) and Villarreal(A) in the next 4 weeks. What a comeback that would be.
Sevilla and Barcelona are the crucial ones IMO. If they lessen the gap to one point after El Classico, everything could happen in the final rounds. I'm not saying they're gonna win the whole points against Valencia and Villareal but there will be a huge pressure on Barcelona at that time while Real are the underdogs and it would make it easier for them. At that time, even a match against Osasuna wouldn't be a sure three points.

Real did that in the first classico this season, was an interesting tactic but Messi still screwed them with the sublime second goal

Messi was quite off in that match though. His goal in the last minute was superb indeed but it wouldn't change the fact that he had been completely stopped by Sergio Ramos and the "either stop or hit him" tactic Real used at that match.

Don't mind my comments, I just hate Real. :p

While you're at it, I don't really like La Liga and I think it's a pretty weak league. I don't believe they'd be in the top 3 in EPL or even Serie A. I've predicted, and we've seen them being humiliated by Liverpool in the Champions League. Hell, even we beat 'em easily.

Dude, even we humiliated them in the CL. That's how bad their CL form.
