Thats hardly an excuse, if he was as special as you make him out to be, then surely he'd stand out.
i think he does stand out,his passing and vision is immense, sure he does not dig his team out of the shit as often as gerrard but he is literally tearing defenses apart with his passing.
Alves-Xavi-Messi has to be the most devastating right side in football

still dislike Barca(though not as much as JAck)

the former barca golden boy :D
Yes. He and Raul are of the same age and people always compared these two to each other. De La Pena was supposed to be the image and symbol of Barca but I read somewhere that the difference between him and Raul was that De La Pena was of a rich family and unlike Raul, football has never been such an important issue for him.

I'm definitely a little more worried than before. Especially with Gerrard out of the first leg and Torres just getting back to match fitness

What a shitty league La Liga is. How many 6-1, 7-2, 4-3, 5-4, 10-11 results so far? :yuck:
Real 6-1 Betis HT. Is this the same team who stopped the mighty Barca last week?

Betis is missing Juanito, their best defender in their weakest department in central defense.

But its no excuse that they concede 6 goals in 45mins. :frown:

I thought Gerrard was back for the first leg, actually i'm pretty sure he is

Well he did go out against Barca in the start of the first half, they didn't crumble this way.

so Real have finally started to click, yet the problem they could have is that Huntellar is finally hitting the net and he is not registered for the CL

Well, the setting is a bit different, w/o their captain, playing at the Bernebeau is always going to work against them.

Couldn't bear to see 6 goals past my fav Spanish side

Btw, Juanito had signed a pre-contract to join A. Madrid next season. That's pretty sad seeing he had served Betis almost his entire career.

I beg to differ. Yaya has been one of your most solid players this season. The first half of the season in particular he was a vital cog in Barca's midfield. Far far from underwhelming.
True. My intention was not to imply that yaya wasn't an important part of the squad, but that he is more or less an automatic choice because of the general lack of height in the midfield and team in general. However, I feel that his passing and especially his shooting have not been up to snuff.

You aren't really expecting the whole midfield to be a bunch of Xavi's are you? :p

His passing is good enough for a defensive midfielder, it just looks worse than it really is due to the fact he's playing alongside exceptional passers like Xavi and Iniesta
