I'm not a Bale fanboy by all means, but this is just laughable and annoying sometimes to read. You make it sound as if Sassuolo, Chievo and co. have such a better defense. The fact is that there are better teams overall in La Liga than in Serie A, as can be seen in Europe.

Sassuolo, Chievo and co. might not have better players or be the better team overall, but their defensive organisation is much, much better. La Liga is just much more based on the offensive sid eof the game, which works for smaller teams playing each other, but once they face Barca, Real, Athletico, they just concede by the dozen.

The WC is the pinnacle, the CL of international competitions, so of course it influences how people value/evaluate a player. I'm not saying it should, but it does. WC or not, I still think Neymar is the better player, and he will prove it in the years to come.
