Atleti 88 pts
Barca 85 pts
Real 84 pts

2 matchdays left.If Atleti win their next home game against Malaga,Real will be officially out of the title race.
Assuming Barca win their next game, the league will be decided on the last day on a direct h2h between atleti and barca in which Atleti only need a draw to clinch the title whereas Barca defo need to win.
Btw Barca havent managed to beat Atleti in the last 5 games they met them.
All Atleti need to do now is not choke against Malaga and id firmly believe they'd take home the league. They wont lose to Barca imo.

What happens in Spain when two teams end level on points? Does it go to goal difference or head to head?

only retards from england look at the goals difference
H2h shows which of the teams was better when they faced each other, so it's a good way to decide who'll be placed higher in case of equal points.

But there is logic too in using the GD as the decisive factor, and I think it might be one of the steps in making serie A more attractive. Instead of completely giving up and wasting time after a team takes a 2:0 lead, it will be in team's interest to score more goals and have a better goal difference. That alone will make the matches more interesting. And when one of those 1:0 winning teams gets burned on goal difference, the next time they won't just stop thinking about attack once they take a small lead.

Then again, Liverpool will have the best attack and still might lose the league on GD, so scoring more goals isn't always equivalent to having the best GD.

What the point to use system that automatically put in the losing position the weakest and the poorest teams? To score many goals you need good forwards, what can you do if you can't afford them? GD is bullshit, h2h or even golden match, but not GD, do you think that it will be fair if barca and atletico will have the same number of points and barca will win the trophy just because they've scored more goals? It's obvious that they have much better attackers and the poor teams are not even trying to beat them, especially at camp nou, only dreaming about the draw. What a horrible feeling if you beat the opposing team both times in the season, but they are above you in the table simply because they are richer and have better forwards

Here's a funny thing.
Atleti need just 2 pts from their last two games to win the league.(superior h2h with madrid)
Funnily 3 pts might not be enough(If they lose to barca on the final day which means barca win the league on H2h).

If Atleti choke in their next game and Barca and Madrid both win, Barca and Atleti have to make sure they don't draw in their match to hand the title to Madrid. Imagine that one.

Or if both Atleti and Barca choke in their next games and Madrid win, Barca have to decide whether to go for the win and hope Madrid draw or lose, or concede to Atleti so Madrid definitely can't win the title.

Hopefully it's more straightforward than that.

La Liga and EPL get through a massive twist on the last corner of the race.. very impressive.. and for sure many lessons to learn out of that.

That's because in those leagues, the difference between 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams is not as big as in Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1. That's what makes them the best leagues in Europe.

Oh, if we use this logic, then we also have one of the best leagues in Europe because this is the top 3 in Belgium at the moment:
1 Standard 43
2 Anderlecht 42
3 Club Brugge 42
