Not really, i see many people, both in this forum and outside saying that Busquets is overrated(I think he's underrated) and does not deserve to play at Barcelona.
That would been true in hist first year or so, when he was getting time despite not being up to scratch that much. Comletely improved and grown to a quite excellent midfielder since.

I differentiate people judging him as a character and player differently, 99% of opinions about are the former, or more or less letting the former cloud the latter in assessment. Total spineless douche, but obviously a very good midfielder.

Comparison is obviously off and only comparing one aspect of them as players (that Bianchi himself mentionned, dictating with intelligence, not saying in overall), but what he is saying about Busquets in general is on point, rarely has a bad performance and keeps things ticking in rather controlled and composed way.

Ya, some people fail to read past the sensationalized article titles, read what Bianchi actually said. He only compared the two players in one aspect of the game.
@Osman, forget people talking about him being a douche, that is well established. There are many people who think he's an average player and does not deserve to play for Barcelona and the Spanish NT

I wouldn't really call Senna "simple". The guy had a rocket of a shot, was quite technical and was a dead ball specialist.

Oh and I certainly don't agree that the world raves about these players, some people do, but the vast majority of football fans, overlook players like Busquets because he can't pass like Xavi, dribble like Messi or score like Villa.

Umm..nice, didn't like him much, still don't like him much. In fact I think the only Spaniards I like are Raul and Guti.

As for Busquets, he is very good....but he's an incredibly detestable character, just like Materrazi, not many people will praise him or appreciate what he offers, only his fans will.

I know, but I rarely hear that anymore compared to his first seasons, and as I said I take those kind of stuff (calling a player who clearly isnt average so) as being clouded by their dislike for his antics, not his actual competence on the pitch. He wouldnt fit in and do the job he does with such ease as he has been if he was.

The use of parenthesis in that post may confused you (I use it alot myself hehe), but Fred is clearly saying that people say he is overrated and doesnt deserve to be in Barca, while he himself thinks he is underrated.

Busquets is good for Barcelona but a holding midfielder there does nothing similar to a holding midfielder on any other team. Much easier to play with them.

Try Busquets as a defensive mid when your team doesn't have the ball all game. FFS, I remember the Spain-Italy friendly when Balotelli turned him, I shit you not, 5 or 6 times in half an hour.

He has no pace, or range, or agility or tackling ability. He doesn't have a great shot or amazing vision. He's just very calm and has good awareness and anticipation. When the whole team presses he just lays in the weeds and picks off rushed passes. And when he plays balls he's completely uncovered most of the time.

I know its hard to notice him, he does most if not all of his tactical task in the quiet, but as Fred said, underrated, ignore the title and watch the entire clip to get basic understanding of his task on the pitch:

Marchisio does everything he does with half the talent around him, against tougher, grittier opponents playing on sandlots and swamps in Serie A stadiums.

Marchisio can do his job just the same, is my point. You don't need some special characteristics to "create triangles" when your team has the ball all game or to anticipate passes when your opponent has one option because you have 11 players who are twice the speed as them hurrying them all game.
