not necessarily a fixed game - the situation was suh that a draw suited both teams perfectly - Celta gained a direct promotion while Cordoba secured their spot among the 4 teams (3-6 place), which would decide which is the 3rd team promoted to La Liga next year.

It was one of those games where a draw was the logically obvious as putting an extra effort into hurt each other made no sense whatsoever for either of the teams involved ... you know, one of those games Buffon talked about just days ago ;)

It's happened in Italy too, as Buffon personally admitted it and said it's diff than match fixing but just two teams that have no incentive in hurting each other or something along those lines.

According to Süddeutsche Zeitung, one of the most widely read newspapers in Germany, and one that speaks with a certain authority, the most expensive footballer in history [C Ronaldo] may now be used to guarantee the solvency of a Spanish bank.

Or put another way: “Ronaldo in the bailout fund,” as SZ’s headline said.
